[identity profile] home-to-me.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Firstly, feel free to vote on my names:
http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9436729
There's only seven names right now. I deleted the ones that I knew I'd never ever use. These ones that are left are my favorites. Whaddya think?
EDIT: There's no last name listed because well, I'm single, don't have a guy in mind, and my kids wouldn't have MY last name. It's hard to judge names without seeing how they'd sound with a last name, but eh. Also, there's two on there without middle names. Theoretically, they would HAVE middle names. I just haven't decided what I would pair them with. /EDIT

Also, my brother and sister-in-law have three kids: Dominick Anthony, Lilliana Rae, and Scarlett Meena. All three have first names with eight letters in them. They didn't do that on purpose with Lilliana, but when they realized both had eight letters, they wanted the baby to match, so they gave her an eight-letter name. Also, "L" is eight letters from "D." And then "S" is seven letters from "L." So, the deal is if they have another baby, it needs to be eight letters, and start with "Y" because that's six letters from "S." I doubt they'll have more kids, but yeah. So, I was randomly thinking about this one day, and "Ysabelle" or "Ysabella" came into my head. Does it look stupid spelling it with a Y? Especially since it'd be done just for the sake of... well... spelling it with a Y. The only other name I found that worked was Yeardley. *shrugs* Kinda pretty (and yeah, I'm betting they'd have a girl if they had another. I dunno).

Along that same note. So far, those three are the only kids on my side of the family. My sister-in-law has nieces and nephews, but eh. So, I was thinking that maybe when I have kids one day, I'd keep the eight-letter thing going. What are some nice eight-letter names that might fit within my tastes (check out my name list)? Also, I tend to like girl names a lot, and suck at boy names. I have my boy names picked, but eh, they're not eight letters. lol.

"Dominick and Lilliana, we chose your names because they were beautiful and we really loved them. Scarlett, yours would not have been our first choice, if you want to know the truth, but it was the best we could do. Little Yakbreth, well, what can we say... "

Ysabella

Not odd to me, but that's cos I'm a mediaevalist, and it's a common early spelling. Modern-looking people might find it more odd though! The lack of spelling rules in the mediaeval period does cause some quite kre8tiv-seeming spellings! :D

I think Ysabelle is fine too. It's different, yes, but not annoyingly different :)
They could also go with Yulianne ;)

I keep wanting to say Ysabelle as Yis-a-belle instead of Is-a-belle. I'm really not a fan.

Granted, that's a...cute(?) pattern to have for your kids, but seriously? That'd be absolutely ridiculous if they named her Ysabelle just for the sake of continuing it.

That said, I love most of your names. Hannah Margaret is gorgeous, and I really like Sadie and Scout, too.

Obviously, Yggdrasil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yggdrasil) is the answer.

Crap! You're right. How about Ygdrasil, then, since it wasn't spelled in the Roman alphabet originally?
