I'm always interested in what people have named their pets.

What was the pet and what did you name it? What were other possible names would it have been given?

I named Willie my cat, but her real full name is Willow Savannah. My sister named her cat Lillias Jade "Lilli". My brother named his cat Fiona and my sister tacked on the middle name Mae with that. We all named our dog Lucy. We never really settled on a middle name for her.

Dog: Britty. She was a Brittany, remarkably enough.
Cats: Darcey and Nippers. I didn't name either of them, though. Darcey was for the member of the band Smashing Pumpkins, my sister's favorite band at the time, and Nippers because she nips us to get us to pet her.

Current pets:

Sam and Dean Winchester are my dogs. One is short haired with blonde highlights and the other is shaggy with darker hair. Guess which one is ADHD and sticks everything in his mouth......

I have three cats: Lola, from the song by the Kinks; Divia, Lacroix's crazy daughter from Forever Knight; Macushla, from the song Macushla (the Jack Lukeman acapella version)

Past pets - Lestat and Lacroix are my little vampire kitties that still live with my parents; I had a doberman named Fluffy...cuz she wasn't; we had cats named Tango and Cash, Princess, Mr. T, Abby Normal; dogs dusty, sue ellen (dallas), uno, reggie, prissy, joplin, Camille, Dufect; a bunny named Hugh Hefner; parakeets named perry (keet), greenpeace, tweety, and snowball

My dogs name is Rudy. We came up with it after naming all the reindeer's names.

My fishes names are Uno, Dos, Tres and Cuatro...bc well I don't get attached to them since they don't last that long lol

I call my turtle Shelly but his fully name is Sheldon Francis. Why...I have no idea. I started calling him Shelly before i got him bc i did not know if i would get a boy or a girl. Now its evolved to Sheldon and I just kind of put Frances in there. He's a grumpy turtle but hes kinda crazy...idk I thought it fit him lol

My first dog I got when I was old enough to name it was from the humane society, and she already had a name (Cheri, like Sherry).
My other dog was also from the pound, but he was a puppy, and I named him Pierre Vaughan Rufus (half poodle which is French, half Schnauzer which is German). I got Rufus from the Zyrtec commerial, Pierre was the first French name I thought of, and Vaughan after Ralph Vaughan Williams. But we call him Rufus, Ruby, Tater (his tail looks like a tater tot), Tate, and Cocoa (he is from Cocoa Beach).

My hamsters name is Tostito Sanchez. My friend is mexican and he named his Dorito, and my other friend's is Frito.

I named my fish Frankito after Tre Cool's son.

The following are:

Apollo (God of the Sun) and Zeus (God of Gods)--believe it or not, the titles are also on their I.D. tags

These two are Apollo and Zeus. They are litter mates, ie. brothers. They have never been separated from birth. We decided to go with our theme of "royals" in our house hold, so naming them after Gods just seemed fitting. Apollo is the Rottweiler looking one, and Zeus is the all black Lab looking one.

Jambi- Sultan of Chaos

He's our first baby. He is named after one of our favorite song's from out favorite band, Tool. The name seemed so fitting since it means SULTAN in some country, I forget.

Rocky and Adrinne

These two are our first addition. Rocky, I received my first Christmas. Adrienne was our adopted baby. She was given to us by one of our in-laws, she's about a year younger than Rocky.

Luna- Celestial Princess

Our last baby, yet the oldest. She was very unexpected. We rescued her from the streets, she was matted, had an inch long earwax, fleas, and malnourished. Now she's a bit plumpier and in love with Jambi, her bf.

My past animals

Hampton J. Pig- We rescued him from a farmer (who had given him the name) that wanted to drown him in a stream...he turned out being one of the best dogs we've ever had. He was a Rot/Gordon Setter mix

Sadie-another dog we rescued, this time from being euthanized at the shelter my mom worked at. She was a border collie

After sadie passed away we got another Collie

Then when I was about 15 I got a black lab and maed her olive and my mom got another lab named Hank and they had a litter of 11 we kept 1 of them but named them all. Pheobe (the girl we still have) Tink, Zeus, Hammy..it was so long ago I can't remember the rest of the names.

When Olive passed away not too long ago I got a small Cavachon and named her Melfina (Mel for short) and she's 5 1/2 months now.

We had a few cats as well over the years Milo and Casey when I was young and a few years ago we had Tiger Lily and Hazle but had to put them up for adoption after someone tried to burn down our apartment and we had to move to my moms (where my bro is deathly allergic to cats)

We had a bird named bonnie for a while

I've had many Beta and Goldfish and I can only remember a few names George, Frank, Benjamina, and Hubert.

I have two cats. The girl is named Roxanne Fluffington von Snugglepuss and the boy is named Java.

Roxanne goes by Roxie and was named after The Police song because I adore Sting. Java was not named by me, but he was given the name because he is a light creamy cat, like coffee with cream mixed in.

Cat - Persia, although I usually call her Kitty-Cat and occasionally Puss in Boots. My parents call her Puss, or Pussy-cat. She is known generally as The Cat.
Dog - Spike. We adopted him, and he came with that name.

Chrissy's brother was Wee Kyley Gu

I have a cocker spaniel, Charlie Cash. He's named after my great grandfather (he & my mother were close, and she's not going to have any more kids who could be named to honour him so yeah). He's a black dog, so Cash is a nod to Johnny. It was an inspired moment whilst watching 'walk the line'.

My rabbits, who recently passed, were Branwen Felicity & Casey Jack.
Branwen just seemed the perfect name for her. She was a rescue, so the meaning of Felicity was fitting.
Casey is after Casey Affleck as I admire him, and Jack Kerouac as I was reading 'on the road' at the time.

As a kid I had a hamster named Harriet (just liked the name), and several goldfish over the years ...

as a child I named my gerbil, hamster, and then another gerbil (which i had one after the other) Lilly Billy and Willy

when I was twelve my mother got my a cat, who I named Punkin because it was october and he was orange and apparently I'm not creative. my brother and i had agreed to name him jointly (even though he's MY cat...) so w=he was mad, and picked a name he thought I'd hate, Scotch, and started calling the cat that.
Thus, my cats name is Punkin-Scotch, and he goes by either Punkin or Scotch. He doesn't seem to realize either are his name though, as the vet believes he may be autistic or brain damaged.

Other cats we've had in the past include Lilo, Winnie, Maury, Bear, Santa, and Lupe. Dogs have included Diesel, Conrad, and Jasmine. Plus about 30 odd fish, hamsters, and guinea pigs through the years between me and my siblings.

All my fish are bettas, and after a lot of trial and error, I came upon the startling realization that my fish who did not have Finnish names died alarmingly quicker than the fish who didn't. They're probably poorly translated, but Onni means luck, Taiva means Sky, Kuuma means Hot, and Mustikka means Blueberry

Maddie - I named her. It's short for Madeline, but she's never been called Madeline.
Pepper - My mom's dog. She's named after Peppermint Patty because my sister and I wouldn't let her name her FiFi.
Lori - My sister's dog. Her name is actually Lorien which is a take on both Lothlorien from LOTR and the De Lorean from Back to the Future.

I grew up with a white Great Dane named Avalanche. It was because he was "too big to be called Snowball" per my mother. She just got a black lab named Makenna Rose. I'm still pissed about that one because it was one of my first picks for girl names.

I have a cat named Friskey. It's my boyfriend's cat, and he named him when he was ten. We also have a black lab/retriever mix named Roxie. Not my favorite name, but she came with the name Rexie, and I hated it times a lot. Roxie sounded hip and cute, and close enough to Rexie she still perks up her ears when we call her.

As a kid I had a black and white ginea pig named Blais after Blais Pascal.

I really really want a dog named Boudicca.
