I've recently started to love the name Alana. What are everyones opinions on it?
If i ever used it i'd probably use the nickname Lana.

Also i was thinking about sibsets and came up with Logan, Alana & Alexa (Logan, Lana & Lexie). Is that sibset too cutesy do you think?

Anyway they're just thoughts and i'm not pregnant so it doesnt really matter at this point lol.

I like Alana (and also Ilana).

But yes, way too cutesy as a sibset.

I LOVE the name Alana! my husband doesn't like it though :( but he's at least willing to use it as a middle name.

I don't like the name Alana because in italian an 'alano' is this dog.

Lana I also don't like because it's the italian word for 'whool'.

I don't like those 3 names as a sibset for the main reason that two of them share the same initial,, making Logan sort of the odd one out.

But I do like Logan.

Eh, I don't care for it- but it's not bad. Just not my taste.

I think your sibset is cutesy, but I like it.

How are you pronouncing it?

I have a niece named Alana, and we pronounce it uh-lah-nuh, the middle syllable sounding like the solfege word - like "La, a note to follow sol" in "Doe a Deer" lol

Yeah, same goes for me...I've been starting to like it lately as well =) I pronounce it Alahna, and I only like it that way =P
I like Logan and Alexa too, but all together it's a bit too matchy, IMO.

I hate matchy-matchy sibling names. Yeah, wayyy too cutesy. Kids should be individuals, not part of a 'sibset'.

Too cutesy for me, but I love every single one of those names.
All 3 of them are on my favourites.
Alana is one of my favourites!

Alana is my first name (pronounced ah-LAH-nah) and I go by Lana most of the time. It's a fairly uncommon first name in the US but apparently it's getting more popular (I've yet to meet anyone else with my name, though). And as it's an old Celtic name with an original spelling of Alannagh, there's a whole ton of spelling variations on it :D

I used to dislike my name when I was younger because for some reason most people here can't pronounce it right (funnily, every time I've been to England everyone's pronounced it fine without me having to correct them). But as I got older I basically was like "yeah, they're idiots, oh well, I have a pretty name and it's unusual but not over the top". So I like my name a lot :)

I love the name. I would spell it Alanna, though. I also know an Ilona (pronounced the same way) and it like that spelling as well. Regardless, I like the name.
