[identity profile] sirenphotos.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm going off my bc in about 6 months, and I stumbled upon this group as I was looking for lj pregnancy groups. I can't believe how many names some people have. I already have all of our *kid* names picked out.

1st baby name:
boy - William Victor N... (nn Will, Victor is my dad's name who was killed when I was 19)
girl - Emma Elisabeth N... (Elisabeth is my husband's maternal grandmother who helped raise him)

I'd love to have two boys and one girl, but here are other names I have picked out.
boy- Samuel Robert N... (nn Sam, Robert is my husband's first name, he's a jr but will not all a III in the family!)
girl - Ava - don't have a middle name picked out for this one.

I really just want to have one boy for sure so I can name him after my dad, after that I don't care as long as they are happy healthy babies. I would like to have 3 kids when all is said and done.

So what do you think?

Samuel is one of my top names...adore it.

The rest are too popular for my sensibilities, but I do hope you have boy so you can honor your dad. :)

Emma is like #3 this year I think.

I like both Sam and Victor a lot.

No I know, it's frustrating. I've always loved Oliver but I have a bad feeling it's going to get trendy soon.

But oh well, it's still a pretty name either way.

I like your boys names and Emma Elisabeth. I do think that Emma and Ava sound a little to similar - kind of a mouthful together. They are both pretty though!

They're great. Emma Elisabeth are both gorgeous names, but something about them together doesn't flow right, though. How about Ava Elisabeth?

Love William Victor, and Emma Elisabeth. Emma and Ava are really popular right now, but at least they're nice names.

But if you are concerned about popularity, Emma has been ranked as the #2 girls name for the past four or five years, and Ava is ranked at #5 and has been skyrocketing, so next year it will probably be more like #3.

William Victor- Nice sentiment after your father but William doesn't do anything for me.
Emma Elizabeth- Oh another Emma, how exciting :-/
Samual Robert- Very boring.
Ava- Again, another Ava? It's pretty but too bad everybody else thinks so too.

I'm not saying they're bad names, i'm just saying that unless i really really loved a name that was especially popular I wouldn't use it because I wouldn't feel it was special enough.
I always imagine the people who do give their kid's the names that are top 3 in the year they were born didn't research name statistics and would ahve chosen a different name if they'd known.
I'd hate to have a boring name myself, that's all.

My favourites aren't weird or unique.. just not going to be one of many in the school year.

I really like William Victor, and Elisabeth is gorgeous. I'm not really a fan of Emma - I prefer Emily with Emma as a nickname. Emily always sounds a lot more...grown-up to me, probably because I know several adults named that, while Emma always seems kind of cutesy and childish. However, I really really really like your style of names, so it's all good. At least it's not Madison, right? ;)

Samuel Robert is also GORGEOUS and I think Sam & Will are adorable names for boys. Ava is great, too, but like with Emma, I'm not completely sold on it. Your boy names are great, though :)

Don't have much to say in the way of names, but I love your icon.

If you get to your 3rd kid and you've had three girls you could name the last on Victoria so it would still comemerate your dad.
