Doing my babyname list, I selected Lily Austen (after jane austen)
I think Lily is feminine and Austen is masculine...sort of a "tranny" name.
But, it's kicking hiney on my list.

WDYT?
Lily Austen
or a more feminine mn?

I'm not fond of giving your child a name you think of as a "tranny" name. I also think little girls should get little girls names.

How about Lily Jane, if you like Jane Austen? I think that would be absolutely gorgeous.

I really like it! Well-balanced! I love Jane Austen as well. Have you seen Becoming Jane yet? I saw it today and it was great!

I like it if it's for Jane Austen and not some bastardization of Austin, and another one of these "let's use a boy name on a girl! We're such rebels!" thing.

I don't really like Lily much, but it's okay.

I actually know an old lady named Bradley. She's like 70 at least.

I think Lily is ok and I agree that Lily Jane would be better. I don't care much for giving girls boy names.

i think it's a pretty name and i like it.

i'm a girl and my middle name is austin, my mom wanted it to be austen after jane austen but she changed her mind at the last minute. i wish she hadn't!

I think it's okay.

I think if Lily weren't so popular I'd like it better. With a simple, common name like Lily I'd like a child to have more options, which a middle name might provide. But in the case of Austen, it's quite masculine and is not the same spelling as the common male given name, which complicates things as well.
