It's my mom's maiden name, so I want to use it somewhere, though it's a lot trendier than most of my favorite names. I do think it works for both sexes. I think I prefer it on a boy, but since I like more male names I might end up using it on a girl (maybe as a middle name though).
Have you considered Tayla or Taylee? I don't love either of them, but they're both more feminine and I know actual children by both for whom the names seem to fit.
