Ever since I was little, I've had favorite names that I loved and eventually grew to not love quite as much. I wonder if others have gone through this type of name succession, too.

1986- Rally B. Kazally - The name I suggested at age 3 for my new baby brother. Thankfully, no one listened to me!

1989- Melissa- My current best friend's name. I named all my toys Melissa.

1991-Katie- The next best friend. This one lasted for a while.

1998- Autumn- I babysat for a little girl named Autumn, and I loved seasonal names like Autumn or April, especially paired with meaning names like Skye or Grace.

2002- Hayden/Aidan & Layla Grace- I fell in love with Aidan after hearing it on Sex in the City, and Hayden after hearing it in a movie. I especially liked Aidan's Irish roots. Layla was my boyfriend (now husband)'s favorite.

2004- Julian, Maggie- Aiden and its variants were getting too popular, and after hearing Julian online it became my new pick. I had a student named Maggie (Margaret) and it became my new favorite girl name. I also liked biblical boy's names like Noah.

2005- Aurelia, Lucian- I grew to hate hearing the same names over and over, and became determined to find names that were historically popular and nice sounding, but currently not in the top 1000. At the same time, I dislike "original" names that sound recently invented.

What's yours?

I still love biblical boys' names, even though I'm not Christian or any other Biblical (?) religion. I like Noah, Isaac, Elijah, Isaiah (my fave), and Zachariah.
