My short lists

Two days ago I revised my short lists for both boys and girls. And I came to the conclusion that...I don't love any names. I have only a *small* bunch of names, but none that I love. Well, wdyt?
Girls:
Autumn
Ember *I like September, but would never dare use it!
Bronwen
Bellatrix
Brynja
Lavender
Rilla
Aurora
Boys:
Harry
James
Nathaniel
Julian
Daniel
Grey
Peregrine
Cian
Dimitri

Do you have any suggestions? I like unusual, nature, celtic, classic names. TIA

I knew a girl in high school named Septimber and I thought it was a beautiful name, even it it wasn't spelled like the month. There are always Junes and Aprils and Mays. Even if you DID decide to use September (if you just can't stop thinking about it!) "Ember" is a nice nickname.

On the military base here, I heard a mom telling her little girl "December, hold still!" while they were trying on clothes.

I love those names, not sure yet if I'd use them, but certainly am impressed with people who do.

ooh Septimber is really pretty. not a big fan of 'month' names, but that's some cute spelling.

That's the one "month" name I keep going back to. I think December is gorgeous and "Cember" a great nickname, but I keep getting drawn back to Septimber. Even though there always will be people like "Um do you know your name is spelled wrong?" Ha ha.

I can see a very independent, introvert young woman with that name. Not just a cutesy toddler name.

At my very first job when I was 16 (McDonald's) I worked with a girl named September.

Ember has always been a favorite name of mine.
I'd avoid using Harry Potter names if you have kids anytime soon :P

If you ever plan on living in Seattle (or in the vicinity), do not name your girl Aurora. Thats the street where all the prostitutes are.

hahha, LOL I've had to drive on that street once. I rolled my window up and said, lets throw pennies at the hookers. ahaha.

I like:

Autumn
Bronwen (only as Bronwyn)
Bellatrix (only I don't think I'd ever use it, due to the HP connotation)
Nathaniel
Julian

September's pretty cute, too!

Girls:
Autumn- yes, but popular
Ember *I like September, but would never dare use it!- I love it, but only as a nn for September! So cute!
Bronwen- not my style
Bellatrix- I like Beatrix better
Brynja- haha, sounds like Ninja.
Lavender- I love it, but it's a little out there. It would be a cute mn.
Rilla- sounds like another version of Riley. It's okay.
Aurora- This used to be one of my favorites. It's getting popular, though.
Boys:
Harry- all I can think of is Harry Potter
James- I like it okay, it's a little boring
Nathaniel- yes
Julian- Used to be my favorite boy's name, but got wayyyyy to popular after Big Daddy.
Daniel- okay
Grey- I wouldn't. If you're naming a baby after a color, at least choose a nice color!
Peregrine- no
Cian- never heard this one. It could grow on me.
Dimitri- yes

Bronwen - For some reason, I've always liked this name.
Aurora - Nice, but also the name of the city I live in.

James - Every guy in my dad's family has this as either a first or middle name, and I just love it.
Nathaniel
Julian
Daniel
Dimitri

A lot of those names will make it pretty much guaranteed that your kick will get their butt kicked in high school.
