What do you all think about the name Merri? A variant of the spelling of Mary and Merry.

I've always hated the name Mary, because it's my mother's name -- and that relationship is in the gutter -- but I met a little girl in Arkansas a few weeks ago with this name... and I think it is absoutely adorable. And I think that, if there ever is a reconciliation between the mom and I, it would be a nice little tribute to her.

ETA: The man and I won't be having a baby for a while! Just pre-thinking.

I love it. That spelling is actually my favortie nickname for Meredith, and I don't like most nicknames! Merri just looks fun, joyful and sweet to me. :)

I don't like it that much. With my English pronounciation Mary sounds different from Mary and Merry.

Sorry but add an -e at the end and you have the Dutch word for mare. When pronounced it sounds the same.
So it wouldn't go well in Belgium or the Netherlands.
I'm not a really big fan of Merry or Mary so...

Don't get me wrong it's not an ugly name or anything, I just don't like it.

I'm more fond of the name Merry. I have 3 aunts named Mary so I'm not too fond of that spelling! And my middle name is Marie.

I've loved the name Merry since I was 8 and had a teacher with her name spelled like that last year that I really love. I do plan on naming one of my children (assuming I have multiple girls) Merry Abigail.
