[identity profile] katherinew.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm writing a little story that involves five sisters named Lulu, Maisie, Ella, Emmie, and Josie (their full names are Lucasta, Margaret, Elisabeth, Emmeline, and Josephine). Eventually, there will be a new baby sister and, unfortunately, I'm having a crazy amount of trouble coming up with a decent name for the child. I don't really have to worry about this for awhile yet, but it's still driving me batty.

So, I need some ideas. I'd like to stick with the same basic theme if possible, but I'll take anything. I'm rather desperate. Haha.

One that I thought of immediately is Catherine, with the nickname Cat or Cate.

I think it adds a sense of reality. I'd actually think it was weirder if they all had different initials.
a third e, though, would be too much

I like Evangeline, I say go for it. A nice nn would be Lynnie, but I like Eva too.
The two or possibly three E's don't bother me.

I decided to go the Nymbler route (nymbler.com) and entered your names as "inspiration" to get their scientific suggestions of what would go well. They didn't have Lucasta as an acceptable name so I entered Lucretia, as they're similar.
Their suggestions are:
Drusilla
Winifred
Euphemia
Georgiana
Catherine/Katharine
Christiane
Philomena
Adelaide
Genevieve
Isabelle/Isabella
Veronica
Victoria
Magdalen (or Magdalena, which would could yield Maggie-type nns)
I like most of them, but I went ahead and bolded my favs.

You'll have to let us know what you decide!

Nymbler goes on to suggest Clementine, Mathilda, Charlotte, Beatrice, Leontine (never heard that name before), Marcella, Susanna, Apollonia, Marguerite, Dominica, Brigette, Henriette, Jacqueline, Hermione, Angelique, Albertine, Valentina, Catalina, Wilhelmina, etc.
I got kind of into the Nymbler thing, sorry. Haha.
