My husband and I have three sisters combined: Kelly Jean, Elyse Marie and Lenee' Catherine. We've kidded around about naming a girl after our sisters. What combination of the six names do you all like best?

Also, I love the name John. Not Johnny or Jack, but JUST John. We've pretty much decided on this name. We are arguing about a middle name. He likes Donald after his grandfather and I like William after my grandpa, two uncles, cousin and brother. What do you like better? John Donald or John William?

One more! My aunt is due in November and they're naming the baby Ryan Joseph. His brothers are William Thomas and Jack Carroll. What do you think of those names? Even though Carroll is a family name, I hate it as a boy name and Carol is my aunt's name.

how many names do we get to use for combining the sisters? i like catherine elyse a lot.

john is nice, but john and donald sound too much alike that close together. donald john would be ok, but i'm definitely still leaning toward john william.

i think ryan joseph and william thomas are very nice. i prefer jacks who are really johns, and i second your thoughts on carroll. plus jaCK Carroll blends too much.

Catherine Jean Elyse sounds good. You could call her Cate.

I like John William better, but they both sound okay. John Donald has too many -on sounds for me, but it's not TOO bad.

I don't like Caroll, either, but Jack, William Thomas and Ryan Joseph are all nice names. They're classic names. Not trendy at all, which is NICE.

Not so into John Donald - the same sound bothers me. John William is fine...if a bit plain.

I like Ryan Joseph a lot (I am about to be an aunt to a Ryan Erik). William Thomas and jack Carroll are great! I think of Lewis Carroll when I see it spelled that way, so it's fine and masculine enough to me.

Yeah, I just hate the name Donald. Reminds me of Donald Duck.

I prefer John Jacks too. Although, we're going with just John because there really are way too many little Jacks running around. My husband and I both have little cousins named Jack.

Oh, yeah, I guess Catherine wouldn't work, then. That's definitely the one I'd use as a first name. I like Elyse and Kelly as first names, too. How do you pronounce Lenee? I'm thinking it's like Renee, but with an L, but I've never heard it before.

Lenee Elyse, or Elyse Jean both look good to me, too.

Hahaha, I never used to like the name Donald (my great-uncle's name was Donald and while I adored him, I always saw it as an old man's name) until I met one of my friends who is named this. He sometimes goes by DT (Donald Thomas) because his father and grandfather have the same name, but he's just this really great kid who not only is the running back on the football team, but plays sousaphone in marching band and had the lead in the school musical. He just made it seem cool to me, so now I really like it. Just not with John.

Jackson seems to be much more trendy lately than Jack does. I like Jack itself, but not Jackson.

It was our great, great grandma's middle name. My grandma honored it by naming my aunt "Carol". Carol, in turn, named her son "Jack Carroll". So it is a family name, but it is still his mom's first name.

I don't think I know any Jacksons other than on a soap. My aunt calls my cousin Jackson sometimes, though that's not his name.
