Middle name change...help

I have a son named Nathan Wyatt...and I HATE the name wyatt! My boyfriend and I just broke up and he's the one who begged me for it...and I said yes. Now, I am going to change it. I just need help...what really goes with Nathan (not nathaniel, Nathan)

I vote for keeping his name. Don't change things just because you and the father broke up. If it was ok to name him in the first place, its ok to keep now.

I don't think you should change the name. People break up and get divorced all the time, but they don't change their kids' names, right? Or maybe they do, and I'm just dumb...Anyway, I think Nathan Wyatt is a cute name. :]

Changing your son's name is petty and unnecessary. You may have broken up with his father, but he is still Nathan's father. Not cool. ;(

Then it's all the kid has of his father. Even bad fathers are fathers and even if they aren't role models kids should have something of their parent.

If the father is a horrible, horrible man who will never be in the child's life or was abusive or the like, I'd say that you're free to change the middle name.

If the child is young enough, it won't really affect him, but you might ask him what he would prefer. My boyfriend's parents wanted to change his name from Jonah Mykiah to Jonah Micah and he said that he just wanted to be Jonah, so they removed his middle name. Now he thinks it's funny.
