I took my kids to the swimming pool today and while hanging out at the kiddie pool, I met another mom with her 5 kids...
they were named:

Taylor (girl)
Tucker(boy)
Tanner (boy)
Tatum (girl)
Turner (boy)

I think Tanner is cute, but as a whole, I think I would get tongue tied if I had to call all of these kids in for dinner!!

What do you think??

Tatum.... like from Scream? lol

My boyfriend's newphew's name is Tanner. I don't like the name Taylor... I can't explain why, it just doesn't appeal to me.

The others are okay, Tucker and Turner, but I would never use them... =-\

I knew a family where the kids were named:

Jeremiah
Jessica
Jolisa
Jerilynn

I think it's better not to stick to one letter, especially since we're planning to use the letter M for all of the middle names for our kids, as we have them, and we agreed that it's going to be a little difficult, but we think we can do it.

Well I like the names. I don't like Tatum for a girl though. It's just the T-thing, I think it's a bit much for siblings to all have names that start with the same letter.

My two older sisters are Kyndra and Kayla, and I'm K'lyssa.

They're cute except for Tatum, but I wouldn't use them all together like that.

They're all last names except for Tatum, and it's close. Not a fan.

I like all the names. I can't say I would never use a same letter theme, because I have a thing for C names. If I marry a man with a last name that begins with a C, I will name all my kids C names. i don't know why.

Any other letter is fair game. :P

haha I think of places in West Virginia when I hear them, too. We used to have to memorize all the counties in grade school and as soon as I saw the list I immediately thought "Taylor Tucker Tyler..."

I dated a guy who was named for the city he was conceived in. So was his sister. At least they ended up okay, Denton and Katy, but the explanation felt really stupid to me.

Yeah, Denton always said that Denton was a crap town. I always disliked his name. It sounded clunky and very southern to me.

I was bothered by the fact that her name was just Katy. I think of Katy as a nickname.

I live in Colorado, so not many people made the Texan cities connection to Denton and Katy, but I figured it out really quickly.

I wouldn't want to be constantly reminded of my conception every time I talked about my name. I think that's mildly awkward for a kid.

I met a girl named Ravenna for that same reason, actually. It's such an unusual name that of course she has to tell the story all the time, which basically boils down to: "my parents had sex in a town called Ravenna." Luckily I guess she didn't have siblings named New Amsterdam or Jackson Hole.

Personally, I think it's more than mildly awkward. I thought it would have been pretty funny if the child conceived in Denton was a girl and the child from Katy the boy. Hopefully they would have picked different names!

That's sad, because Ravenna isn't such a terrible name without the backstory. The town is in Italy, isn't it? Beautiful. And I'll bet you somewhere out there, there is a child named Jackson Hole. There has to be.

> I think Tanner is cute

You mean you like the sound of "Tanner," right? I read a book that included a description of what a tanner does (tans animal hides to turn them into leather). Apparently the stench is awful. I can't get those associations out of my head when I hear the word used as a name :-S

Wow. That's horrible. They're all tolerable (though nothing special) on their own, but together? Yikes.

Well, I wouldn't name all my kids names that start with the same letter...but I have to say I'm partial to Tucker. Tucker is my mom's maiden name, and my brother's first name. I like Tatum, too.

Tanner and Turner are okay. I think of Tatum as a boy's name because of this kid I used to babysit. I don't like what Tucker rhymes with, and I hatehatehate Taylor.

They're even worse used together.

I hate when people name their kids all the same initials. I mean it is okay if you have two kids, but five?

My parents specifically gave us different initials.

My name is Maggie and my sister's name is Abbie and that's hard enough for my parents to keep straight. My mom also calls both of us by her sister's name, Terri. So it's hard for me to imagine that anyone in that family is called anything besides "Hey you!"
