My father-in-law was weird last night. We told him I was pregnant and when we told him our names he flipped out.
He wants to keep family names in there ie Hannah, Hallie, Alice, Nancy(his sister's name of whom he never gets along with). I like the name we already have.

When we got to the boy's name, he went a little crazy. I only hope he was joking. He wants us to use his name Jack or use his father's name---John Wey Stanley. Or even from a dead 1st generation relative of Robart John Wey Nathaniel Stanley. Oy what a name! Jon and I are 15th generation Stanleys.

This is gonna be fun.....lol.

Despite all opinions people say, you are the parents and they are your choices and yours alone. I know how it can be stressful when you tell everyone though. :/ My husband and I decided to just not tell anyone the names of our children till after they are born and already on the birth cert. :)

Yeah just don't tell them.
It's none of their business really, or at least not their choice.
Save it until the baby is born and they are so blinded by it's cuteness they won't be able to object.

Who cares what he (or anyone else) says?? It's your baby. My family certainly doesn't have any say or influence on what I name my child.

its your baby yall should be able to name the baby what ever you want. they wont be the one calling the child to come in the house every night or to come to eat ... etc.

I agree with everyone. It's not his choice! If he wanted to keep those names in the family, he should've used them for HIS children.

So don't worry about it and go with the ones who already have. Although, I DO love the name Hallie : )

It's totally YOUR decision and not his.

That being said, I think Hannah is a beautiful name. One of my favorites. :)

I agree. Don't bring it up again so you don't continue to feel pressured. This is your choice and not his -- don't even give him the chance to convince you otherwise. He already named his kids -- now it's all you.
