For girls Erin and Amanda are far and away the most popular I ran into at college; Jennifer, Laura, Katie, and Melissa have been super common as well, and among girls a couple of years younger than I am I've met a lot of girls named Brittany/Brittni and Ashley.

One day I was standing at a basketball game with three guy friends and I realized they were all named Michael.
Another time I was at a party with my friend Amanda and we met a pair of girls who were both also named Amanda.
Both times I laughed, because my name is Eleanor.
