The more English friendly version. Unless the people who are going to be saying your kid's name are able to say pronounce the Irish spellings, it makes life super difficult for the kid. Besides, I really think they look nicer.

i agree.

if you are somewhere where the irish spellings are common & easily said/read, then go for it... otherwise, i think it would make it a lot more difficult.

the Irish way always fails making sense to me.
to me it's like writing Brnp for Anna.

I like Neala and Neave

I like the girl's names. :)

I don't know, I've always felt quite opposed to the Anglicized versions of names. The meaning is usually lost, and they lose their charm for me. I know they're probably impossible to pronounce if you're not familiar with the language, and how that could present problems... but I don't know, I just think they look nicer spelled traditionally. There's my two cents worth, anyway. :)

What she (he?) said. They look nicer and they lose their meaning if you change up the spelling.

btw, i didn't mention it but:
Keeva (for the fact that i do not like the way Caoimhe looks, plus people are going to say "oh Kai-om-he?")
Neila (looks pretty)
Nieve
Tighe

You've got to go the irish way. If you spell it untraditionally it looks like you didn't know how to spell it!

People will learn how to pronounce the names correctly.

Sorry, this is something that drives me crazy. I love all those names but only when they are spelt the irish way.

I think so too.

If there is an established English-friendly version I'd say yes.. otherwise i'd go with the Irish.

I'm not sure about Niamh.. I do think it's a tricky spelling, but I don't like how Neave looks, it just somehow doesn't look pretty, reminds me of "weave" and "cleave" and other words... but Nieve is bound to be pronounced like "naive" by someone, somewhere, and I don't like that possibility to exist. How about Neve?

I prefer Caoimhe, Neala, Niamh, and Tighe.

I'm familiar with the Irish spellings and pronounciations though, but I still find them prettier than the anglicised ones. Don't like Keeva or Nieve at all. I could maybe tolerate Neila.
