Hi! I just joined so I thought I'd say hello,

I'm young so I don't plan on having baby for a looooooong time but I love names and since I'm a casual writer I come up with characters almost all the time and naming them is one of the most important parts of the process.
Some of my favorite names, some made up by friends and others found in books and life:

Lyra, Milo, Nivi-Mae, Wilbur, Alice, Yue (pronounced yoo-eh), Zita, Blair, Neve, Lucy, Julian (pronounced "hoo-lee-an", it's my little brothers name and I think it's lovely) Dolores, Dorothy, and Soda*Pop Fizz- I think this one deserves an explanation. It the alias of a fictional dj a friend of mine made up, she's supposed to have the style of a raver/candy kid and is about as odd as her name.

Anyway, stopping there because the list could go on. As you can see there's plenty more girls name's then boy's names, hopefully I'll find some more in this community^.^

I love working out names for characters as well. There have been so many times that I have worked out all the names for the characters of a story and never written the story!

Ha! My husband always wanted to name our son Soda Pop Smith after that character in one of the books we had to read for school. I don't remember what it's called anymore, but the kid's name was actually that. LOL.

If I ever met a boy named Soda Pop I'd be thrilled, not sure why but I would be:P
