I know there has got to be more, maybe even spell it with an E. I haven't seen all of them of course, just a lot of them and I mix'n'matched the beginnings and endings I've seen.

Favorite spelling? Worst spelling?
Aiden seem the most 'normal' to me, Aadyyn would be the worst, I hate unnecessary double letters.
I could have expanded this to add on C/Kadens, G/Jaydens, Bradens, and Haydens...but I don't think I'm that bored. I've even seen a Zadan and a Payden on a message board once.

How about Aiden for a girl? I've seen/heard of female Haydens, Jadens and Cadens, but not Aidens(or Bradens.)

I think I should add--no offense to anyone named or who has named/will name their child Aiden. I'm just poking fun at the countless spellings of the name.

"Aidan" is the traditional Irish Gaellic spelling. It's a saint's name, Saint Aidan, who was a monk. It dates from the 600s and means "little fire". Since it's a monk's name I wouldn't give it to a girl. There are various and sundry St. Aidan's churches around, so a good name if you're Irish or Catholic.

I like old names with meaning, and saint's names and so forth, and my husband's family is Irish. When we had our daughter we did a *lot* of reading up on names and origins! It's quite fascinating.

I actually went to a St. Aidan's church, but it was Anglican.

Cool! Do the Anglicans and Catholics share saints? I should think that they would, since the initial theology is the same, even if the doctrine is different.

I doubt they share St. Thomas More...

Weirdly enough, I think St. Thomas More is considered an Anglican saint as well. Funny world, isn't it? XD

oh geez, that's weird. "this guy is a martyr.. because we took his head off! honor him!"

I'm fairly sure they do, though my knowledge of Anglicanism isn't that amazing. :P

My fiance's 5 year old nephew is named Ayden.
While I agree that it's really trendy, at least it is a legitimate Hebrew name as well (we're Jewish).

Aydyyn looks like a weapon you would beat someone to death with.

Aidan is the only acceptable spelling IMO.

Congratulations - you've just named a character in my story. (:

I've been looking for something that might be mistaken for fairy-like/mystical - by white trash. Aaedyyn is PERFECT.

Holy crap.

I like Aidan and Aiden. I know that Aidan is the traditional one, but I have a cousin who used Aiden and I like it just as much. It was a favorite name of mine about seven years ago but as I saw how trendy it became, I decided against it when it came down to choosing baby names.

"Aaedyyn"

Oh good grief.

The first Aidan I knew was a girl. It was forever girlified to me, even though I knew it was traditionally a boy's name...and then it became the most popular name ever. Haha.

I always liked the name on a boy but we wound up naming my girl cat Aiden. It was the only name besides Darcy (her sister) that the fiance and I could agree on. I do know a girl with the name but I'm not sure how she spells it. I like the meaning but it's crazy popular!

There was a female Aidan on CSI:NY and I think the name fit her well.

I actully just named the son of a character I RP Aidan and so far it suits him. His mom is Irish so that way it doesn't really seem trendy or less I think.

I only like Aidan, and only on a boy. Worst spelling - any of the ones with a double y.

Aidan/Aiden is the only acceptable spelling, in my opinion.

I prefer Aiden simply because I feel Aidan is a little bit feminine.

And I would name a daughter Aidan, but a son Aiden.

Caden & Braden are SO boy's names.

Hayden is unisex.

I am so sick of that name, no matter how it's spelled.

In my humble opinion the only way to spell it is Aidan (which is the traditional way).

I do know a girl called Aidan and I think it is nice but I'd never use it.
