If you could rename yourself in real life, what would you choose, and why?

I saw this on LJ's front page, and thought it was perfect for this community!

If I could rename myself, I think I would choose Summer Rose. It has been a favorite of mine since childhood.

Ilana
It's my Hebrew name and I did choose it myself.

A friend of mine has two daughters called Ilana and Seraphina. I think Ilana means tree. They are beautiful names.

If I was doing my full name, I'd change it to my pen name, Ashton Elizabeth Connelly.

Or, Kate Ashton Connelly.

I like the name Ashton, obviously. Summer Rose is beautiful. =]

Does the name "Kate Ashton" have anything to do with the television series Murder in Suburbia? =P

From: [identity profile] nobodynomore.livejournal.com
absolutely nothing. Kate is just a name I like and Ashton is one of my two middle names, another name I've always liked. =]

Although there are names I like more than mine, I can't imagine any other name being mine. lol sorry to be a party pooper. Maybe I could pull of Laura, I did used to pretend that was my name a lot when I was a kid.

I did rename myself to Joshua Joseph... but if I did it again (and nothing's written in stone) I'd go with the name I plan to publish my books under, Riley Jakob Kanter.

probably Samantha even though it's kind of common, because people have told me that I look like one and when I was younger I always kind of wanted to be like the girl named Samantha from Now and Then

I wouldn't rename myself...but if I had to, I think I'd go for Ariel or Leah. I feel like both would fit me =)

I think I'd keep my name. I have names that I love but I'd rather use them on my kids than myself.

As a kid, I wanted to rename myself Nadia (NAH-dee-ah).
Now I just love my name too much to change it. I'm Jessica.
I will though change my middle name to Taylor. Not because I think Jessica Taylor sound anything special, but because I really love the name and it has meanings to me (besides, I just hate my mn's)
People have told me I look like a Georgie or Candy lol

I like both of my names. I'd consider naming my baby Kathryn Grace if Kathryn wasn't already my first name. Lynette is my middle name and is my 7 year old daughter's middle name, as well. That said, I'm not crazy about Kathy, which is my nn. I'd much prefer Kate, but everybody is used to calling me Kathy, so I guess I'm just used to it.

I absolutly love my name - Kate Elizabeth - but if I was going to change it, maybe...

Imogen Danger Morris

Haha.
Imogen being my favourite girls name, but my boyfriend hates it; Danger just cause I like it; Morris cause its my boyfriend's name, and I'll hopefully be changing it to that soon anyway! :)

I was just talking to my boyfriend about baby names during a moment of calm in between "shit my period is late" freak outs about Danger as a middle name.

I didn't tell him that I was partial to Regina Danger [last].

I love my full name- Katharine Nicole- but sometimes I wish I had a different nickname than Kasia (it's Polish and thus gets mispronounced a lot), although it does seem to fit me. I think I'd still have to go with something a little different and be Rina or something. I couldn't stand being another Kate/Katie or a Kathy.

But if I had to go all out, I'd be Audrey Elizabeth Dean.
I like Old Hollywood, what can I say?

Sage Caroline

Sage = what I go by anyway, chosen name obviously. Just always felt right for me, and still does after teenage identity cris and indesicision.
Caroline = A long/classic/elegant/feminine mn for balance. Also it's a feminine form of my maternal great grandfather's name, and he was a wonderful man so it would be in honour of him.

I also really like Elise, which is fairly close to my given first name (same root name anyway); but maybe a second middle name would be too much.

I'm very attached to my actual surname, because it's awesome and honours the aspects of my heritage which I feel especially close to, so am keeping that.

My REAL name is Margaret, but when I was about fifteen, I started going by Sidny, just because I liked it. I spelled it that way because i thought it'd be cool. Ha. lol. Now, I'd have picked Sydney. When I wanted to change the whooole thing, I wanted to be Sydney Hannah Bailey. Now, I want to be Sidny Margaret McCarthy (which was my mom's maiden name. I like it better than my own)
