The usual name idea post

Hi all!

I just discovered this community and thought I'd run a few names by you all.  My hubby and I are in the very early stages of trying to start a family so looking at baby names sites has been a fun diversion for me.

I have a few girls names that I like.  Catarina/Katarina, Quinn, Molly and Mya are a few of them.  We plan to use my mother-in-law's maiden name (Markey) for a middle name so I'd like to find something that fits.

The trouble is boys names.  Our last name is Stein, so it's hard to find names that don't sound like a country (i.e. Owen Stein, Colin Stein).  The only boys name I like so far is Eli but my husbands thinks it sounds "too Amish." =)  I think it sounds more Jewish than anything.

Any feedback on the names listed and other suggestions would be welcome.  I don't like the trendy (i.e. Mackenzie) and I'm not big on anything in the top 10 name lists (Jake, Jacob, Daniel, etc).

In order of the ones i like the most to the least. and on a scale of 1-10(10=best), id say, Molly-10pts yay! lol, Quinn-8 pts, Mya-6 pts, and K/Catarina-3 pts. I think Molly is adorable and i can see it on a little girl and an older woman and still think its a great name :)I think Molly Markey Stein sounds really good, and while Quinn isnt my favorite name, Quinn Markey Stein sounds almost better than Molly Markey lol :)

for boys, i listed some that I thought sounded good with Stein.

I like the sound of Quinn Markey. Molly and Mya are both really cute names, but the alliteration of the M's with the middle name is a little much for my tastes. If that doesn't bother you, though, Molly is my favorite on your list. And I like Catarina, but I prefer either Catrina or Katerina.

I LOVE the name Eli. I put the names you liked into Nymbler (http://www.nymbler.com) and came up with these boy names. Ones with asterisks are the ones I think sound best.

I don't know if any of those are ones you'd like, but I think they all sound okay with your last name, and Nymbler claims they're the same "style" (although I don't know how true that is). You have great taste in names, though. Eli and Molly are two of my favorite names ever.
