What do you think of the name Jade? Or any variations of the name. Jade, Jayde, Jayd, Jayda, whatever.

And for a boy's name I like Ayden Azure. (for the first and middle name)

I love Jade. I think its a great name. Jada is also nice.
I like Ayden too a lot actually. Great names.

I don't like "Jade". Don't really know why, just not a fan of it. I like Jayda though. And Ayden. Would you pronounce that "A-den"?

Jade. Just Jade. The variations look awful.

And Ayden should definitely be spelled Aidan. It looks so weird with the random y in the middle of the name.

The only problem with spelling things differently is that (a) no one is going to pronounce it correctly; (b) no one is going to spell it correctly; and (c) the extra y's in name cease to be cute after about age ten.

The other day someone made a post about a woman in her mid 40s named Leslye, and all I could think was, "ick." It's a cute name for a little girl and all, but when the kid is 20 or 30 or 40 and wants to be taken seriously people are going to look down on him because of his name. That's not necessarily right, but people make assumptions about people based on their names and the way they're spelled. I try not to do it, but I do it without even realizing it, and I know a LOT of people who do.

Take for instance the names Michael and Mikal. Technically the "same" name, since they're both different variations of the traditional Michael, but all things being equal, the Michael is going to be my first (subconscious) choice as my doctor or my lawyer or, hell, even my kids' camp counselor. I'm not necessarily proud of that fact, and I try to make the conscious choice NOT to, but most people wouldn't.

That's just my two cents on the subject. That being said, I LIKE both Jade & Aidan, although they aren't ones I'd use on my own kids.

LOL, good. Aiden/Aidan is a much better spelling.

LOL. I do like both names, but because they're really popular and trendy right now, I'd never use them. I just like the sound of them, and I think maybe the fact that I don't have them as vehemently as everyone else is that I know people named Aidan and Jade and they're the first thing I think of when I hear the names, instead of thinking "trendy!"

I like Jade!

But to me Azure is a girl's name.

No I haven't met anyone named Azure, it just seems feminine to me.

I went to school with a female Azure. Kinda blah girl, but that's irrelevant.

I like Aidan as Aidan, but it's so popular I kind of detest it now. Had it not become so well-known, I'd probably be in love with it. I love its meaning and I'm Irish, so it'd be kind of fitting.

Jade seems kind of... I don't know, lower class? I don't see it wearing well on a woman past the age of twenty.

I used to think the same thing about the name Jade, but I met a woman who was in her early thirties named this and she wasn't like that at all. It totally changed the way I think of the name.

Really? I just can't shake the image I've had. It isn't based on anything other than a Bratz doll I had a couple years ago, but... if I were to meet someone who would change my perspective entirely, that would be great.

Honestly, I'd stick with the spelling "Aiden". "Azure" is a bit weird for a middle name, but I suppose it depends on what the last name is.

I knew a girl names Azura. So Azure is definitely girly to me.

If my name were Ayden Azure, whenever my parents walked into the room I would give them a look of vile contempt.

To me Jade is okay, but as a middle name.

Ayden Azure is really not good. I'm sorry, it's just bad. Wayyy too trendy. Aiden and its variants look tacky now, think of how bad they'll look in a few years.

One of my favorite girl names is Jade Evangelina.
I dislike any other spelling.

Azure is an interesting name, although maybe more for a girl?
Ayden is overly trendy.
