Aug. 20th, 2005 09:47 pmAm I crazy for liking the names:
Wolfgang
&
D'Artagnan?
Of course, I'd only have the courage to use them as middle names. But I love the associations I have with both names. Wolfgang, of course, is for Wolgang Amadeus (sp?) Mozart, and D'Artagnan is from the Three Musketeers (He was my favourite)
Wdyt?

Date: 2005-08-20 06:57 pm (UTC)Does Mozart really mean enough to you to use Wolfgang as a middle name if you're not sure how to spell part of his name? There's also Wolfgang Puck, the chef.
If you like them, though, you like them. It's your choice what you name your children. Hopefully they will like their names as much as you do, and if not, you won't hold it against them for choosing a different name/nick name to go by.

How funny.
Even though our kids do have unusual names ... my bf never would agree to D'Artagnan.
Pooey!

Date: 2005-08-20 08:09 pm (UTC)i don't see any harm in that, nobody knows your middle name unless you tell them or it's on something like legal papers, and they're not going to make fun of your middle name in court.
i think it's sort of nice to maybe add something interesting as a middle name.

Date: 2005-08-20 09:00 pm (UTC)Like someone above mentioned, I do have names that I just ADORE but I could never saddle a child with, so they are my "pet names".
I think the names you mentioned as middle names are fine. They certainly aren't traditional but I do underestand love of books or historical names. I love literary referenced names, like Holden, Harper, Astrid, Salinger (even Atticus, as discussed some time back).

Date: 2005-08-22 08:10 am (UTC)i dated a guy named Wolfie for 6 months nd thought it was just a nickname at first - then i saw his driver's license. i thought it was a super cool name but he hated it.
they both sound like great ideas for middle names!
