Jul. 7th, 2007 04:36 pmI just discovered a [really, really terrible] story I wrote when I was about 11 or 12. Some of the characters names:
Tia Bonita - and I quote: "A ravishingly beautiful gypsy princess" (*gag*)
Captain Terrence Phillip McAlastair - the brave, dashing sea captain-love interest who drowns himself in despair after Tia Bonita marries a stockbroker (no kidding).
Huberto Rance - the stockbroker. Dies of blood poisoning, poor fellow.
Tilly, Maggie, Pete, Anthea and Quentin - bunch of kids who live on a ship previously owned and now haunted by the unhappy ghost of Captain McAlistair. Why are five kids drifting around on a ship with no adult supervision? Just cause. Ship, incidentally, is called Tia Bonita.
So what do you think? Going to use any of my names for your future children? :p
Personally, I still rather like Maggie, Anthea and Anita. Oh, and I'm definitely naming my future son Cork.

Esmerelda, Georgio, Jules, Anita, Candal (wtf?) - gypsy extras.
Cork, Pip, Bole, Jim, Frankie - seafaring extras.
Gallivant - obligatory dog. (Because if Enid Blyton taught us anything, it's that every gang of children roaming around doing whatever the hell they want has to have an extraordinarily well-trained dog to fetch prison keys, carry messages, find water, etc.)
Mrs. Watersham - helpful barmaid.

Date: 2007-07-07 11:57 am (UTC)As for the names, they're pretty interesting for an eleven/twelve-year-old. When I wrote stories then, my names were basically Hannah, Gillian, Sam, nothing really creative.
I think Cork is kind of cute and Maggie's just adorable.
