Okay this is another Jo- question.  I have narrowed down my favorite ones to three.  which one do you like and why?  Johannah I like better than Joanna simply because of appearance.  I like the name Anna more than Hannah, but I like Johannah more than Joanna.  It's weird.  Joely I got from the actress Joely Fisher although I say it more like Kate Winslet says it in Eternal Sunshine... Joel-ee.  Jovie, I'll admit I got from Elf.  I like the sound of it for some reason, not really sure why.  I don't plan on naming a child any of these names as I already have my favorites, but who knows, things could change in the future.  The nickname for all of these would be Jo or Joey.[Poll #1016800]

I love Johannah because of the Sondheim song, Johanna. I like that spelling best, with no H in the end, but I like the name in general.

Joely is cute.

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] dancing_crazy: Johanna without the h is the spelling I prefer. There's just something about the extra h that bugs me, which is why I voted for Joely, which I also like.

I like this spelling better:

Jolie

But probably because I knew someone who spelled it that way...

Johannah is a bit too old fashioned for my taste, although it's not bad, and Jovie reminds me too much of Jupiter (Iovi/Jovie, you know) which is why I picked Joely =)

I didn't use to like Joely, but then Joely Richardson from Nip/Tuck made it likable to me :P
I've never liked any deriving forms of John or Johannah (which btw I prn different from Joanna, the latter having no 'h' sound after Jo-) and Jovie reminds too much of the italian name Giovanna (boring and old here in Italy) and of singer Jon Bon Jovi too.
