[identity profile] thephoeb.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I've been reading this community for a while. I'm not planing on having children for a long time, I just really like names.
What are your favorite first and middle name combinations using the following names? Or what names would you pair with these names?

*my favorites

Adia*
Norah*
Nora
Juliet/Juliette (After my mother, her name is Julie)
Marlena (Marley for short)*
Adeline
Adele
Macy
Madge
*Madelina (My parents almost named me Madeline, I like this variation)
Malia
Emery
Rae
Kay
*Charlotte
Gianna (I really like this name but I HATE Gigi for short)
Amani
Cecilia

I have a much easier time picking out girl names than boy names. It is hard to find uncommon boy names that aren't too out there. The only boy names that I can think of that I really like are Silas, Julian, and Caleb.

Also, what is your name? What do you think of it?
My name is Phoebe Rose. I used to hate it more than anything when I was younger. People can never say it right when reading it, and 90% of the time when I tell people my name I have to repeat myself at least once because they think I said "Bebe" or "Dede". Plus, the only other Phoebes anyone knows of are on TV (Friends, Charmed).
I've grown to appriciate having a somewhat unusual name, I think it builds character. However, I'm still not really crazy about the sound my name. I do really like the way my first and middle names sound together though.

Ethan
Theodore(Theo)
Gabriel(Gabe)
Mason
Owen
Douglass
Noah
Phillip
Beau
Edwin
Wes

I agree completely about Gabe...someone else on this list suggested Riel as a nn.

Adia* - I would think of that Sarah Mac song. It's ok
Norah* - I love this name, prefer Nora.
Nora - Yay!
Juliet/Juliette - nice, not too common
Marlena (Marley for short)* - this is cute. Marley is more of a non-permanent nn to me.
Adeline - Way cute!
Adele - cute and older than adeline
Macy - Like the store, no way
Madge - Ew. Old barbie doll.
*Madelina - cute. I like them both
Malia - Do you say MAH-lia or Muh-LEE-uh?
Emery - Way cute
Rae - nms at all
Kay - boring!
*Charlotte - nms but nice
Gianna - yeah Gigi is stripperish
Amani - looks like Armani as a typo.
Cecilia - nms but ok

I like your boys names a LOT. Caleb and Silas are on my list as well.

Oh, and my name is Rosalie Margaret. Rosalie is a name that was most popular in the 1830s. I HATE that it's so old-fashioned, but I do like its lack of popularity without being so out there. I go by Rose, which is fine if you don't mind a million babies with that middle name.

I like Charlotte Adele together.

My name's Ashleigh, and I've always liked it. However, for some reason, on paper, I get confused for a boy, even with such a feminine spelling.

I like Juliet (in fact it's our top choice for our girl now)

I grew up with an ODD first name (or so they say..now it's being used more) Talia

I like Adia; it reminds me of the Sarah Mclachlan song. =)

I really like:
Nora
Charlotte
Marley -> I've always thought of Marley as sort of my guilty pleasure name...one i couldn't use. I've never considered Marlena!

Cecilia Rae
Emery Rae
Malia Rae

Rae seems to be a good sort of name to go with most first names!

Oh and my name is Claire Louise......and when I was younger I ALWAYS wished my name had more syllables because ALL my friends had nicknames!! I missed out. I do like my name now though, the middle name has never really been defining for me....I mean it's on my birth certificate and what not...but I've never been known as 'Claire Louise'. I like how it sounds with my name...but i've never been overly partial to it on it's own.
