Charlotte

I've been thinking about the name Charlotte.
What do you all think of it?
What nicknames/middle names would sound nice?
Ta.

Ah, of course, it depends where you live. It was #2 in Australia in 2006, so I'm going off that.

Nifty!

Yeah, it is common. But for good reason, it's a really nice name.

No problem. :) lol that would annoy me too. That's good that it's not overly common where you're from.

It's a nice name, but way popular... depends if that bothers you or not. :D She could go with Charlie or Lottie for short. Lottie is sweet.

love it.
unfortunately, it's a little too popular for my taste. but it's classic and lovely.
i don't think it really needs a nickname, as charlotte is only two syllables, but charlie and lottie or just char (like shar) are okay.
middle names...well pretty much any of the typical elizabeth, marie, rose, ann, etc. sound good. here are a few other ideas:
charlotte louise
charlotte amelie/amelia
charlotte jean
charlotte renee
charlotte june
charlotte lenore
charlotte sunshine
etc.

Charlotte Elizabeth
Charlotte Alexis
Charlotte Anne
Charlotte Claire
Charlotte Noelle
Ava Charlotte
Helen Charlotte

I like the name, it's pretty in my opinion.

would you pronounce CHAR-let or Shar-LOT (French version)?

Charlotte Penelope for mn

Char or Shar for nicknames, but depending on pronounciation of course.

In my opinion it's adorable. My own name Sarlotta is scandic form of Charlotte, and i've always thought that Charlotte is awesome.
Perhaps Lottie would be the nick name, mine has been Lotta.

I would pronounce it Shar-LOT.

I know a couple people named Charlotte. One goes by Char (pronounced kind of like Shar?) and the other is Charley. I love the name and I like both nicknames. I think either one works, but I prefer Charley on a little girl and Char on an adult...since that happens to be the ages of the people I know.

My boss just had a baby (well she's 1.5) and they named her Charolotte, nn Charley ;) It's cute, I hated it at first, but love it now.

Love it and I love the nn Lola for it.

I like it!
Charlotte Amelia is nice

[identity profile] j0yous.livejournal.com 2007-07-05 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I really like Charlotte.

Possible nicknames: Charlie and Carly come to mind, Lotte would also work. I have a friend named Charlotte who is nicknamed Chessie.

Haha, Charlotte is my name and I've only recently decided I like it.

The nickname I usually go by is CC (though oddly enough, those aren't my initials) but I don't usually all myself that. I called myself Charlie when was younger but I hate that name now! I also can't stand Char or Chaz which people sometimes insist on calling me.
I absolutely love Lottie as a nickname! I think it's adorable but I don't use it myself because I don't think it really suits me (also, 2 of the 3 other Charlottes in my year at school go by Lottie and I don't want any confusion!)

i love the name charlotte, especially with the nickname charlie :)

ditto! I LOVE the name Charlotte and I *love* the nn Charlie. But Lottie is really cute too!

I like Charlotte Eleanore and Charlotte Paige :)

I like
Charlotte Avery
Charlotte Renee
Emma Charlotte

The only nicknames I really like are Lotte and Charlie.

For some reason Sherry popped into my head as a nn.
for an mn

Charlotte Lorraine
Charlotte Marie
Charlotte Amy
Charlott Clara
Charlotte Lynn
Charlotte Ann

charlotte is one of my favourite girls names, but as mentioned above it's way too popular in australia and my boyfriend was going to name his baby charlotte with his ex (as well as my dad planning on using it with his new partner), so it's a bit ruined for me. if i was to name my child charlotte, i'd use the nickname charlie.

[identity profile] soulsplinter8.livejournal.com 2007-07-07 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I absolutely LOVE the nickname Lottie. I would consider naming a child Charlotte JUST so I could call her Lottie for short. ;o)
