love it. unfortunately, it's a little too popular for my taste. but it's classic and lovely. i don't think it really needs a nickname, as charlotte is only two syllables, but charlie and lottie or just char (like shar) are okay. middle names...well pretty much any of the typical elizabeth, marie, rose, ann, etc. sound good. here are a few other ideas: charlotte louise charlotte amelie/amelia charlotte jean charlotte renee charlotte june charlotte lenore charlotte sunshine etc.
I had wanted to use Charlotte Sarah Charlotte Anna Charlotte Charlotte Elizabeth Charlotte Alexis Charlotte Anne Charlotte Claire Charlotte Noelle Ava Charlotte Helen Charlotte
In my opinion it's adorable. My own name Sarlotta is scandic form of Charlotte, and i've always thought that Charlotte is awesome. Perhaps Lottie would be the nick name, mine has been Lotta.
I know a couple people named Charlotte. One goes by Char (pronounced kind of like Shar?) and the other is Charley. I love the name and I like both nicknames. I think either one works, but I prefer Charley on a little girl and Char on an adult...since that happens to be the ages of the people I know.
I love the name Charlotte. I really like Charlotte Blythe.
Charlotte Alison, Charlotte Caroline, Charlotte Abigail, Charlotte Madeleine, Charlotte Annika, Charlotte Katherine, Charlotte Ewelina (w = v, it's Polish).
Haha, Charlotte is my name and I've only recently decided I like it.
The nickname I usually go by is CC (though oddly enough, those aren't my initials) but I don't usually all myself that. I called myself Charlie when was younger but I hate that name now! I also can't stand Char or Chaz which people sometimes insist on calling me. I absolutely love Lottie as a nickname! I think it's adorable but I don't use it myself because I don't think it really suits me (also, 2 of the 3 other Charlottes in my year at school go by Lottie and I don't want any confusion!)
charlotte is one of my favourite girls names, but as mentioned above it's way too popular in australia and my boyfriend was going to name his baby charlotte with his ex (as well as my dad planning on using it with his new partner), so it's a bit ruined for me. if i was to name my child charlotte, i'd use the nickname charlie.

Yeah, it is common. But for good reason, it's a really nice name.

Possible nicknames: Charlie and Carly come to mind, Lotte would also work. I have a friend named Charlotte who is nicknamed Chessie.
