My friend and I have been discussing baby names, lately. Not that we are ready to have kids, but just for the fun of it.

Her names:
Girl - 
Lydia Kathleen (mn has family meaning)
Shelby Ann
Addilyn (nn Addie) Grace
Allison Charlotte
Boy -
Matthew Kenneth

Mine:
Girl - 
Gianna (can't think of a mn, help?)
Scarlett (again, can't think of mn)
Madeline Johanna (nn Maddie-Jo, family name)
Boy -
James (mn help again, maybe?)
Keagan
Nicholas Ian
Jack (mn again, i suck.)

What do you guys think? Opinions appreciated.

I'm not saying this to please you, but I like most of your names and I dislike most of your friend's names...Shelby & Kenneth are awful, IMO.

I can't stand the name Shelby...I think it sounds too childish, fine for little ones, but a terrible name for an older person. I also think it sounds kind of stripper-ish.

Addilyn makes me gag but I do like Adeline or Adelina (I think I just hate "lyn" names)

I love Nicholas Ian and Addilyn Grace, though Addilyn seems kindof "made up" to me... like you just squished two names together. Despite this I still like it though, which is rare for me.

A few suggestions for middle names for James:
James Allen
James Gordon
James Isaac

Scarlett and Madeline are both very pretty names... maybe Scarlett Paige?
