the increasing number of Marinas popping up lately?

Marina is my mother's name, and until recently I'd never met or heard of many other people with the name. Now it seems like it's popping up everywhere. I love the name, but to me it sounds old-world and pretty, not like something that would readily become trendy. Maybe it's just me.

I just hope it doesn't balloon into the next Madison or Alyssa.

Marina sounds like the place from where you'd leave from your tour from.

I hadn't actually noticed, but that may be because I live in an isolated island in the South Pacific!

Marina is quite a pretty name. I don't think I know anyone called that either.

An interesting side note that just occured to me: In New Zealand we call where you moor your boat on the edge of the water a 'marina'. I don't know if anywhere else calls it that too so sorry if they do and you all already knew that :D

but i haven't noticed it becoming popular really

Yeah, I live in New York and we call where you dock a boat on the edge of the water a Marina also.

I think its a nice name though.

The same thing happened with my mom! I love my mother's name and ten years ago it was incredibly uncommon, but it seems like now I hear it on every other little girl. I can't decide if I like that, or if it bugs me...
Oh, and her name is Paige. :) Trend city, right?
