Jun. 30th, 2007 04:00 pmWhat do guys think of the name Jayelle?
It occured to me while pronouncing the initials JL.
I think it sounds nice, but how would you spell it? Maybe Jeyelle?
Also yesterday I met a woman named Julie, who has a baby girl named Lea(h?). Do you think they're too close to be in the same family?

Date: 2007-06-30 02:20 pm (UTC)I don't think that Julie and Lea(h) are too similar to be related, assuming Lea(h) is pronounced Lee-uh. Julie has enough to it that isn't a Lee sound that I think they sound totally different.

Date: 2007-06-30 03:54 pm (UTC)Jayelle would probably have to be spelled that way to avoid the unfortunate mispronunciation of Jail, but I'm not a fan of it. It seems very trendy-sounding in the Jayden/Brayden/Maddyson kind of way, and I hate having random y's in the middle of names.

Date: 2007-06-30 05:50 pm (UTC)My boyfriend has a friend JL, so it seems like more of a guy's name to me. Oh, and I hate the kid...
And, no. I mean, if her name was Julia it would be different.

Date: 2007-07-01 09:18 am (UTC)Julie and Leah are similar to me because Julie is pronounced Jew-lee and Leah is Lee-ah. So they're both short and share the same lee sound.
