For a girl we are thinking Kya. I wasn't to crazy about the name at first, but my husband has loved it all his life, b/c of the Bob Marley song. It's growing on me now. What do you think about Kya Mackenzie?

Hmm. I love Kya, and I love Bob Marley, so you got like 3 points there for choosing a name that has importance, in my opinion.

I don't necessarily like that Kya is placed with a more mainstream and trendy name, I think that personally, it gives it a messy vibe. Taking from Angelina Jolie's new adopted daughter, Zahara Marley, I think that Kya Marley is perhaps prettier then Kya Mackenzie.

Eh, wasn't really crazy about Mackenzie, my husband liked it. So I'm okay with not using it. Our last name is Rollins, pronounced Rawlins.

my friend has Eilisia as her name, she says that most people don't have trouble saying it, because she spells it with an E.

For instance, Alicia Silverstone, her name is pronounced as Eilisia, but because it's spelled with an A instead, it's sort of confusing.

Kya's nice. Not familiar with the song, but I've seen the name (only spelled Kaya - which is my preferred spelling - and Kaia), and it's pretty.

That's what I thought too, that the song was about pot.

I do prefer the Kaya spelling, as Marley used it, to Kya. And I prefer Kaia even more. The name has multiple meanings in multiple languages so I wouldn't worry a lot about the marijuana reference.

I agree that Kaya Celeste is very pretty.

yeah I thought about that, but I figured most people wouldn't make the connection, plus if we use a different spelling. my husband just likes the song, he's not a pot head or anything. actually he's in the air force so drgs are completely out of the question (not that he'd do them anyway).

I like Kya Madeleine. Simple and sweet. But it's not cutesy.
It just reminded me of Kya Marin. It has an element of an adorable but yet grown up-ness to it.

Kya Quinn is also pretty, but i think Madeleine does the first name justice.

I'm not to worried that people will think that. Our life style doesn't really reflect that of a stoner. We're pretty straight laced, besides, my husband is in the Air Force so he can't (and doesn't) do drugs. Also we are going to spell it different from the song. The people who know us will know better.

I know someone who actually named their daughter Marley, no one has ever thought of it as a stoner name. Cassidy is a Grateful Dead song I believe, and pot never crosses my mind when I hear it. lol Kya is cute.
