Depends on your pronunciation of Colin, I guess. The British version is way way off Khaled, d or no d. I can hear it in certain American accents if I think about it.

the actual arabic pronounciation is: khhh- aled. don't know how to describe it. it's a very, very old name, not kreativ (if you thought that, don't know if you did)...there was a 7th century islamic leader with that name, behindthename.com tells me! it means 'everlasting'/'eternal'.

Actually, the 'kh' sounds like 'j' in 'Juan'. You know, how Spanish people pronounce it.

I was aware that it was 'ethnic' and not kreative.

I am not a fan of creative names at all.

My husband says I have a thing for ethnic names. I am just not sure if I like or dislike this one.
