My name is simply Lea (LEE-uh). Usually people misspell it Leah, which is understandable. But recently there has been a rash of misspellings of my name (come to think of it, they're all misspellings from my in-law side):

Lia
Leia
Lyea

I'm only confused as to how that "y" got thrown in there since the other spellings are pretty legit too. Still, I can only imagine how many times other names get misspelled when mine is only 3 letters long.

Of course you're welcome to share how your name has been butchered :)

My name is Alison, so naturally people always spell it wrong. Usually they spell it Allison, but sometimes people ask me if it's got a y in it, or if there are two s's, or other weird things like that. Alison is the original spelling, people! That, and I could never find personalised items with my name spelt properly when I was a kid, it was all Allison.

Alison is pretty much exclusively a male name in Brazil. I'm first-generation American and named my favorite Polly Pocket Alison (one L), and the Polly Pocket compact happened to be the easiest toy to take on the plane to see my large Brazilian family. Said large Brazilian family folk were horrified that I was playing transgendered or just confused games, to their mind.

That's so weird... I honestly can't imagine a man named Alison. I know it ends with 'son' and everything, but it's always been a girl's name. Oh well, what can you do? :P

Well, that's just it — Brazilian naming culture says that anything ending in -son is probably a Very Good Name for a baby boy. Madison, Nelson, Alison, Benson... you could take nearly any single syllable (maybe two), tack -son to the end, and guarantee that somewhere in the country there'd be a boy with the name. Jenson, Elson... the list goes on!

To a certain extent, -ton names are insta-boy, too (think Ayrton Senna, the famous [late] Formula One driver).

I'm Ashli. Simple enough, you would think, but when I spell it for people, they almost inevitably write it A-s-l-h-i or A-s-h-i. If they do get the Ashl in the right order, they usually ask me a time or two where the "e" is... "A-s-h-l-i-e?" Most people can pronounce it, but I have gotten telemarketers asking for ashl-EYE and a few people who dont even try and just say, "How do you pronounce your name?"

Eleanor, clearly, is misspelled all the time (about which I don't really care anymore). Also Ellie.
However, I recently was with a friend named Madeline at a store and watched the salesgirl write: "Maddlyn" on her order. We were both very surprised to see that particular guess at how to spell Madeline. It seemed far more contrived than the actual name is.

I'm Leah. :) Same pronouncation as you. I like the spelling Lea, but I imagined it gets pronounced Lee a lot, no? My name was originally going to be spelled Lia, but my parents changed it at the last minute. I've always been tempted to switch back to it, but never have.

I'm Kristy, so I get every spelling imaginably: Christy, Christie, Christi, Kristi, Kristie, Kristee. Probably any combination you can come up with, I've seen it. I've gotten to used to having to say, "Kristy with a K" but then it's inevitably spelled Kristi. I gave up caring a long time ago. LoL

Yeah, I usually don't correct people unless it's on something where it's important for my name to be spelled right. As long as they're calling me Kristy and not Christine or Christina or something, I'm fine with it. LoL

Kristy like the BSC, people! Honestly! ;o)

Oh man, my friends and I when we were little would play BSC all the time, and my friend Kristen and I would fight over who got to be Kristy since technically, we both had her name and thought we were each entitled to it. LMAO

I'm Kathryn, so I get mostly Catherine's, Katherine's, and Katheryn's. During seventh grade, my science teacher could not get my name right, I was "Kathlynn" the whole year. Other than that, I don't get too many misspellings or anything.

You might think there's no way to mess up "Tessa", since it's about as phonetic as English gets, but... people frequently want to add an R in it somewhere. Maybe subconsciously, they associate it with Teresa (NOT THE SAME NAME, not even related) and feel the need to compensate? It's not Tressa, it's not Tersa, it's Tessa. JUST Tessa. I've also gotten Tesa a few times, but rarely.

My name is Martyna. It's the name Martina, with a 'y'. People I meet for the first time spell it with an 'i' but I'm quite used to automatically spelling it out for people if they need to write it down. I've had people spell it 'Mitina', 'Matina' 'Martena'

I've had a great range of prounciations from teachers over the years based on the unconventional spelling of my name: Martin-ah, Marty (blergh!) Mih-tee-nah, Marty-nah, Martin, Ma-tie-nah, Martini. I'm not afraid to correct people either and I'll continue correcting them until they get it right! hehe :D
