i forgot to add, i'm thinking of using ryan because it's my boyfriend's (the dad's) middle name. but i am open for more ideas with that one!

I think that Asa is far too easy to be made fun of. It might sound cute, but I think that as the child grew up the teasing would be horrendous.

my last name is Dumas, so i've dealt with a lot of teasing. i think Asa is hard to tease someone about unless they saw it in writing.

I also thought this was a girl's name til I read most of the comments. Either way, I like the way it sounds, but I think the first name Asa would be subject to SO much teasing.

in japanese, it's a girl name.
in the bible, the king of judah was named asa. so in hebrew, it's a boy's name.

My sons middle name is Asa, and I LOVE it. I also think Asa Ryan or Ryan Asa sounds really good. I was going to use it as a first name, but had twins and decided to use it as a middle name. (I couldn't think of a good name for the other twin if one was Asa.)

I like it. I really like the name Asa. I've had my four kids, but I've been thinking of the name Asa the last several days and really liking it. It's weird, but I read his story in the Bible today. My midwife also named her baby Asa (it means healer, I believe).
