I wouldn't mind it if I didn't think of this guy on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" lol..

So no, unless you're a fan, or you want to make "Cum On Feel The Noize" jokes while the baby is crying.

I really wouldn't. It sounds like some beefed up character from a cheesy 80's movie. :( Sorry.

As rebl said - not if you live in the UK.

The DC comic fan in me finds this hilarious, because Slade is a merecenary and extremely evil villain most of the time. So I could never see someone naming a kid Slade with out doing a double-take.

the Teknoman fan in me says awesome, but the mom in me says no way for a real name on a real kid!

After reading through all the comments, I sortof have to agree.

I am thinking. Slade would do well as a middle name. Because you can pretty much get away with cool names as middle names. But if you try to use a 'cool' name as a first name, you end up generally just setting the child up to be made fun of.

HOWEVER. Try to take comments with a grain of salt because it's unlikely that the child's generation would even find out the reputation of their name, you know?

One of the Dixie Chicks named her son Jackson Slade and I very much love it. I don't think I would use it as a first name though.

Lol, I'm from the West Midlands so all I can think of is Noddy Holder yelling "It's CHRIIIISTMAAAS!"

So, a definite no in the UK.

Sure :)

I just think it's terrible and..harsh, if that makes sense. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. I don't really like 'power' names, such as Blade, Blaze, so on and so on. It strongly reminds me of one of those. Also sounds on the made-up side of the spectrum. Usually I go for meaningful long standing names, often with some sort of history involved. This name doesn't spark that in me. To me, it sounds like someone is trying to be modern and 'hip', and just ended up with a bad name choice reminiscent of the 80's. Hammer pants and all.
