Jun. 21st, 2007 03:00 amI really want to incorporate my mom's name into my first daughter's name. Her name's Linda. I can't use Linda as a first name I don't like the idea of having 2 Lindas so close by. It'd get confusing.
Therein lies the problem: How do I incorporate Linda?
My thoughts are using the name Melinda or Mayalinda as a first name or using Linda as a middle name. But, so far I haven't found any first name to pair Linda with.
Any suggestions?

Date: 2007-06-21 11:23 am (UTC)that's just my perspective on middle names.
So for example I see nothing wrong with whatever name like Catherine Linda, Jessica Linda, Madison Linda, Echo Linda, Bethany Linda (not saying I like these names, just pulling out a bunch of random styles as examples).
I would only rule out two syllable names ending with a or starting with L cos it's too monotonous. Or a first name ending wtih L cos they'd run togehter. anything else is fair game as far as I can see so try out your favourites!
Ok i'll try it with a few of my own favourites. Anna Linda - probably not but not the worst name in the world.. Rebecca Linda - ditto, Laura Linda- no way, Natalie Linda - sounds fine to me.
Hope that helps

Date: 2007-06-21 01:32 pm (UTC)Have you thought about naming her something close to, but not quite Linda? like Lindsay or Lindley?
Also, I know a mother-daughter pair who have blended first names. Theirs are Wandalee and Amberlin, so you could do something like that with Linda and another name you like and get something meaningful to you, rather unique, and easy to nickname.

Date: 2007-06-22 03:48 am (UTC)I know that the name Linda is Spanish for "Pretty" so what about using other names that have the same "Pretty" meaning?
I looked on a baby names website and I found names like
Bonita, Bonnie, Jolie, etc.
Here is the link to the "Pretty" names page if you are interested :)
