(no subject)

A friend of mine is pregnant with her first baby. Her and her husband have been trying for a really long time and we are all really excited that she is having a baby.

She loves the name Piper but is afraid that with her last name beginning with a P that the baby will be made fun of bc of her intials. Its kinda a silly reason to veto a name but it makes sense.

Her other name that she likes is Macie or Macey.

Im asking for thoughts and Ideas.... also spelling preferences and middle names

Family names are:

Lucille
Anne
Patricia

But if you use one name someone might get upset about it....

other options for middle names are
Joy
Faith
Grace
Hope

ThANKS in ADVANCE!

Actually, more people should note the initials before naming their babies. I have a friend with the initials ODD. He used to get teased back in school. Actually, we still poke fun at it LOL

I love Piper Grace, but I agree with you..people will make fun. :/ Too bad, because it's a very cute name.

I plan on naming my first girl Faith Anne, and it might be a good combo for her, maybe!?!

As long as your last name isn't Thomas.

True.

There's an actress named Piper Perabo - alliteration can be cutesy but doesn't have to be the kiss of death if she really loves the name.

I'm not a big fan of Piper- it always brings to mind the "nine pipers piping" in the 12 days of christmas song. As a nickname or middle name, it might be cute though. I like all your middle name choices, especially Grace and Joy.

I've never cared for the name Piper at all. It's so silly sounding to me. Not a name to be taken seriously in any context imo. Plus some Dutch friends of mine said it's a slang term for givng a blow job. That was the final nail in the coffin for me. Ugh. And yeah, PP initials aren't too great either.

Macey isn't a favorite of mine either, but more just a personal dislike of the sound. It's ok I guess. Just not for me. I like Macey Lucille best.

I've NEVER liked Piper, I agree on it sounding silly.

I like Macie Lucille, Lucille Grace, Faith Anne, and Lucille Faith.

Yeah, I'm really liking Lucille as a choice. :)

Especiallyyyyyy Lucille Grace.

I think Joy would the perfect mn, as they are so happy to be having a baby. :)
Macey Joy is cute.

I knew of a girl named Maisie (Macey). I love the spelling of it.

My sister's name is Tina Lucille.

Macey reminds me of mace that police use and Maisie reminds me of a cartoon character called Maisie the mouse, but i really like Piper..

Everytime I hear Macie I think of the store. lol

Okay, nobody's intials can be more humiliating than mine.

CRS. Mine spell Can't Remember Shit. so, naming her Piper isn't that bad, it could be worse off.

Macey reminds me of the store. I knew a girl by that name, and she bought clothes from Macy's. I always found it confusing. I think Piper is extremely beautiful, and I don't think that kids, honestly, will tease her because of it.

Piper. I'm sorry but that is awful! Maybe name her Penelope and call her Pippi or Poppy, but Piper?

If your friend is still thinking of Macey, she might consider the name "Mazie":

If you search the SSA most popular baby names, you can search as far back as 1880, and the name Mazie appears on the list for that year (and probably many more years to come before fading from popularity).

Here's the chart of Mazie's popularity:
http://www.thenamemachine.com/baby-names-girls/Mazie.html

There's a singer named Mazzy Star. But I haven't heard of many people named Mazie (a couple come up on a google search but they aren't well known)
