My 3 year old is Jayden. Would it be weird to name my unborn child Jared?
Someone told me that "Jayden and Jared" sounds too similar.

The problem with naming kids with the first letter that is the same, people get the names mixed up. My cousins are Veronica and Valerie. I kept getting the names mixed up. someone I know has two girls named Torrie and Taylor, also I have the same problem and get their names mixed up.

I think it sounds wonderful. They aren't too similar at all! I don't mind families with all the name's starting with the same letter.. My sister in law's family is Tim, Theresa, Trisha, Tara, Tracy, and Tessa.. LoL I know you aren't going quite to that extreme.. but yeah, I think Jared and Jayden sound cute together. It's when people name their kids "Tracy and Stacy" or "Jason and Mason" or something that it's crazy.. ;P

My ex-boyfriend's name is Shane and his (fraternal) twin's name was Shawn, and I always called them the wrong names.

I actually know a girl who has two boys - Jared and Jayden - not sure how she spells the latter one though, but I think that's probably it. I think she gets confused with the names. All tongue-tied trying to figure out who she's trying to talk to, lol. Probably doesn't help that her husband/the kids' father is named Gerald, lol

Yeah they do seem a bit too close.
Both very nice names though.

Honestly, I think its cute. I knew two guys that were brothers named Robbie and Ronnie and no one seemed to have any trouble with it.

They aren't that close. I think they're very nice!

Now, if you had Jayden and Kayden, that would be too close. ;)

yes, too close. overly cutesy and too close. you will be yelling Jared, I mean Jarden, I mean Jayden!! out the back door. Of course, you will probably do the same if you use Wyatt. Wyatt! I mean Jayden!
