triplets

I came across a set of triplets that the parents had named Geneva, Vienna and Sicily. I was never really sure if I liked it. I don't think they are particularly bad names in themselves [with the possible exception of Sicily], but not as a sibset.

What do you think? Is it cute, or is it too gimmicky?

Maybe it's just me, but it sounds too gimmicky. For instance, it's like those sibsets on tvs or movies when the sibs are either dumb or evil. (Cinderella spin offs usually havet his.)

Sicily sticks out. I don't think it works as a sibset. I do love Vienna.

I think if they weren't cities, it'd work really well. Because they are cities, it's a little gimmicky.

I do like Geneva and Vienna though.

Maybe I'm being too picky, but it bothers me that they have two cities and an island. I find matchy sib names gimmicky anyway, but it's like they didn't even go all the way wuth the gimmick. Ok, I'm too picky!

Being a twin myself, I can say I am glad that my parents did not give us matchy names, as we got confused enough as it was. Or just lumped together, as "the twins" as though we were an entity. I can't even imagine how a sibset with corresponding names would have to deal with that.

Sicily is the worst. I am Sicilian and love it here, but it's just not a baby name.

Too gimmicky, definitely. I do love the name Vienna, though. Might use it as a middle name.

Yeah, too much, sounds like a road trip or something.
I quite like Geneva and Sicily [prefer Cecily], never got into Vienna as a name though.

As a set, I'm not a fan. But as individual names, I like them.
