How do you like the name Story for a girl? I thought of it several years ago when I saw it on a headstone in the cemetary (a last name). However, I think that some celebrity has a kid named Story, as I recall seeing it on that VH1 crazy-baby-names show.

What's funny, is that I thought of the name several years ago and always wanted to name a future daughter Story, but now I'm in a relationship with a man with the last name Page. So, she'd be Story Page. Not sure if I want to put a kid through that, lol.

Agreed, Story Page would be weird, but that is a really good name for a girl otherwise. I just might steal it.

Hate it. A story is something you read in a book, not a name

haha, non proper nouns maybe. I'm really not a fan of names like Story, Lyric, Summer, Autumn, etc. They just sound very childish. However I don't mind names like Hope, Grace, and Joy, because those have been around as names since like, the pilgrim times, and I believe that at that time they had more significance than they do now, but they got established. There are just so many actual names from so many different cultures that have so many different meanings, why do we have to resort to taking words?

Hey the pilgrims also thought Cotton was a good name...

Story was the title character's name in Lady in the Water. Normally, this would have annoyed me, but it worked very well in the film (this coming from one of the only people in the world who actually liked that movie). I think a certain type of girl could pull it off, but it could be tricky.

Two of my friends did, too, so there are four of us, at least. I watched it with one of those friend's family, and everyone was trying not to cry by the end. But then everyone except my friend and I claimed later not to have liked it. Yeah, whatever, I heard you sniffling, guys.

Me, too. I especially love The Village. It seems to be such a popularly hated movie. I don't really understand that. I mean, a lot of people not liking it, sure, but the mass hatred for it goes beyond me.

The Village is my favorite, too. I really don't get all the hate, either. Ivy and Lucius for the win!

My former boss' son has Story as a middle name. His first name is Monty.

I had a crush on a guy named Kenny Lacey in middle school. I was teased relentlessly that if we got married, I'd be Tracy Lacey.

I ended up marrying a guy named Stacey. Go figure.

I love your name. A close friend of mine has a daughter named Koryne (Kor-in).

Sounds pretty lame, in my opinion.

I think it's really pretty, and I like Story page! Unique!

It makes me think of Lady in the Water.

I fell in love with it after seeing Lady in the Water, but I've been trying to come up with a more regular name that Story could be a nickname for. I think it's beautiful, but I would probably only use it as a nickname.
