I hadn't heard of Meredith as a boy's name until Nymbler. Either they got it wrong or it's one of those boy names that became a girl name, like Hillary or Ashley.

I've always thought of Meredith as a more masculine name. It's not very popular in the UK on either sex, but the only British Merediths I've known have been male.

I've come across a few Welsh male Merediths (traditional Welsh spelling though), and one US female Meredith.
I do like it, but will most likely use this one on a cat, when I next have one - regardless of whether it's male or female. ;)

I like it on both male and female humans as well, possibly prefer it on a girl.

Yes - when I worked in a bank, we had a customer who was a man named Meredith. New tellers would often tell him that his wife had to sign the check before he could cash it. He'd get all testy and say, "*I* am Meredith!" Oops!

I think Meredith was originally a man's name, but I'm not positive. The man who wrote The Music Man was named Meredith.

Oh Cameron for a boy sorry, i should have been more specific. I like it for a girl...but that might cause some insult because it's a family name.
