Well, I actually put in my name and my husband's...

Ottilie- Girl, never heard of it
Erica- I don't like it
Ephraim- Boy, it reminds me of Ephrata, PA
Jonathan- My cousin's name
Miranda- I don't like it
Ashley- Reminds me of Mary Kate and Ashley, ugh
Matthew- Too common for me
Joshua- part of our last name is too close to this
Michelle- Nope, doesn't do it for me
Cicero- Different, I kinda like it
Jason- Too common, I like the spelling of Jaison
Ariel- Ugh, Little Mermaid
Nathaniel- Nice, but my cousin's son
Isabella- My great Aunt is Isabelle, so no
Esmerline- Nice, but old fashioned

My husband (Vikram- Indian) got this list of names:
Leena- girl, A cousin's name
Vadim- boy, It is ok
Vidya- girl, I like
Nirali- girl, I really like it, it is close to the name I like, Nirelle
Vijay- boy, it is ok, my friend's brother has this name
Bindu- girl, too close to Bindi
Veda- girl, nice
Sanjay- boy, too common
Nikhil- boy, LOVE it, but it is his cousin's name
Pranav- boy, it is ok
Rekha- girl, not really digging it
Varun- boy, it is nice, but with run at the end...could be teased
Vadana- girl, reminds me of bandanna
Rajesh- boy, too close to his dad's name, Ramesh
Sadhana- girl, but with the sad- I am sure child would be teased

I wouldn't worry about the child getting teased with the "sad" and the "run". They might get teased occasionally, but all names can be twisted in some way to lead to teasing. I think if it's a nice name and it's just one syllable that sounds like a word, it's not worth discounting the whole name because of that.
