I dont like the name keith. Is it in honour of someone (I dont know why, it just seems like that kind of name). In general I don't like 'th' sounds though. Preston is nice. :)

I feel compelled to warn you that my first two initals growing up were KP and TONS of people made jokes about them!! I still don't get why! Oh, also, I think KP is some old army slang (kitchen patrol, maybe?? :) and so old people always made army related KP comments or jokes as well.

Not saying don't name your baby that, just a little personal experience! :)

I like Theo more than Keith. I have a nasty old second cousin's uncle's brother twice removed - whatever! He's an ass, and his name is Keith, so I guess I'm kind of biased. If you do use it, I don't think it would need a nn, and I think KP is a little unusual and un-catchy.

I don't know any young people called Keith... but that's cool! It does have a nice sound and it's a nice, solid, masculine name.

I don't like Preston though, it sounds too much like an attempt at being posh, although that's a bit of a silly reason not to like it I suppose.

I think KP is really weird as a short form/nickname, why not just call him Keith? :-\ Because no one will ever call him KP, they'll just call him Keith.

Here in the UK, if you say "KP" it actually IS the name of a job — kitchen porter. Like, the 14 year old who cleans your dishes. And the term is so common that nobody even thinks of KP as an acronym, it's just a term... like how TV is even more common than Television.

So yeah... naming your kid KP... well, as long as he doesn't visit the UK!
