Angelina - Never been into "angel" names. Cate - Katewithacee would be annoying to say all the time. I do like Kate, though it's a bit on the common side for my taste. Cadence - Nice Serena - Nice Calypso - Ok, a bit too mystical feeling to be taken seriously maybe. Esther - A bit musty for me, but it's ok.
Angelina- i really like it, but i've met about 5 little girls with this name in the past year or two. Cate- i really like the name Kate, spelled either way :o) Cadence- ehhhh, don't like it much. Serena- ehh again. Calypso- Breeze? Esther- reminds me of a stuffy old lady :\
I like Esther a lot but I can see how it might be too old-fashioned. I wouldn't use it but I would shake the hand of anyone who did.
Calypso is awesome, but again, I just like how it sounds. I can't seriously see anyone using it for their child. A cat maybe...or a race horse. If you were dead set on using it I'd use "Cally or Caly" as a nickname just for safety. After all, kids can be mean. I remember a girl named Cherry we went to school with and that girl was forever picked on. :(
The only name I don't like is Cadence, but that's because I'm an Army wife and a cadence is what the soldiers sing/shout (?) when they are running.
Actually, I like Esther a lot, partly because it's a Jewish woman's name. A nickname for Esther would be Essie. Which i find to be pretty at least.
Like many of the other people, i really don't like Calypso, it reminds me of a genre of music and it's a little bit too out there which can either be considered as a good thing or a bad thing.
I like the other names though, so good luck with that!
Angelina: very elegant and pretty. Probably too Angelina Jolie though. Cate: sweet as a nickname Cadence: I like this a lot Serena: nice Calypso: can't quite see it as a name (at least not for a child) Esther: sounds very 'old lady', and like polyester.
Its sad that you guys don't like them. I think Calypso Esther are beautiful names. Together they dont amount to much but as separate names, they are regal and wise and pretty unique.
Angelina - I dont like Angel names. Cate - Yes :) Cadence - No Serena - Yes :) but I like Serina spelling too :) Calypso - How do you ponounce it? It sounds cool... Esther - Way too old fashion... but Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) named his daughter this. :)
Angelina - she'd have to use the first letter of her last name, there are too many of them. Cate - kate, maybe. not cate. and she'd have to tell everyoner her real name was cate, not catherine. my brother and sister do (nick and jessi, real names) and they HATE it. Cadence - yes Serena - nope. Calypso - please, PLEASE no. Esther - it's better than calypso.
