Just too much?

My top boy name and a newly found love of a boy's name seem just "too much" with our last name. Our last name is number 2 in the nation. Johnson. My trouble is my top boys names are Jackson (Jack) and Finnian (Finn). Jackson Johnson. That's terrible... or is it? I'm torn. I've loved the name Jackson since I watched Steel Magnolias for the first time at the age of 5. His name would be Jackson Allen Johnson. It's too much isn't it. It breaks my heart. Finnian is the same way. It's sounds fine as Finn but not as Finnian. WDYT?

WEll Jck Johnson is a singer, but other than that I like it.

I LOVE Finn or Finnian.

Ugh, bad typing."Well, Jack" **

I like Jackson, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Finnian, and I don't think it's too much w/Johnson.

I think Finnian is fine. Jackson... maybe a bit much lol.

Jackson Johnson is a bit too much, although it's very pretty with Allen in the middle. Unfortunately, most of the time he'd just be Jackson Johnson.

Finnian Johnson, though, sounds just perfect!
Maybe just not Finnian Allen Johnson, now that would get complicated.

i know for a fact a little boy Jackson Johnson already exists... two -son names on a person is too much for my liking. Finnian's better for Johnson.

I know it's disappointing, but Jackson really just doesn't go with Johnson. Finnian is okay, though!

Jackson Johnson sounds really redundant sorry. It's not only two -son names, but preceded by two common boys' J names... so to me I hear that and go "Well whose son is he - Jack's or John's?"
I think people would find that name funny.

I don't know why you said that Finnian is the same way though, there is no parallel that I can see. It is fine with Johnson as a last name.

I have never heard the name Finnian by the way.. was it meant to be Finnigan? Just wondering.. I think I like Finnian better than Finnigan (mostly because Finnigan reminds me of Michael Finnigan with whiskers on his chinnigan)

I'm in the same boat. My fav name is Andy, but my last name happens to be Andrews. Andy Andrews? Apparently it doesn't work, but I just like it so much.

*hangs head in disappointment*

A Famous Singer

if you name him Jackson (Jack for short) it'll be like Jack Johnson, the singer. If you don't know him, well he's teriffic, but just thought I'd let you know. Finn Johnson sounds alright. You could always just name him Finn. I plan to name my daughter, if I have one, Cate instead of Catherine.

I think Jackson is too much with the last name, because you wont be calling him Jackson Allen all the time. However, I think Finnian works well

I like Jack and Finn Johnson, but Jack Johnson is the name of a singer. I love the singer, but you might not want the association.

I think Finn works, though, and what's wrong with just Finn?

Jackson by itself is one thing, but Jackson Johnson would get you posted here, in THAT way, y'know? Sucks. Sorry for the bad luck! Of course, I didn't change my last name when I got married, avoiding any such problems...

Finnian is okay with Johnson, and Finn is absolutely great, in my opinion.

I think they're both a little too much.
