I like silly names

I know I just posted, but this seemed crucial, and by "crucial" I of course mean "indulge the hedonistbot."

I'm currently doing data entry for a government contracting company, so I'm encountering a few names that strike me as silly or odd or even pretty, although I haven't seen any pretty ones today. Today's are especially good, considering I've only been at work for a little over an hour:

Renne Smoot (I'm not sure if that's Ren or Ren-ay)
Anne Pugh
Linda B. Tribby
S. Chism
Dana- "Dana" is the name of a man, in this case, which is odd, because I've only ever seen it as a girl's name, either as Dana or a nickname for Jardena.

Also the name Ivory is spelled Ivery for one woman.

Any thoughts?

I think it's unacceptable that you are posting people's last names here.

I'm worried about that, too, but I got these people's names off the internet (researching names on the internet is part of my job) and also people's names is one of the least crucial elements in identity theft. I'm not listing their jobs or where they live, simply noting that their names are amusing. If it bothers anyone I'll edit the privacy and/or delete the post itself. Thank you for your concern.

The last names are still listed in the post. I'm not sure where you live, if you are from the USA or not, but there is a privacy act called HIPPA. I understand that researching names is part of your job, but I personally think that you have crossed the line by listing the last names since you got them while doing your job.

It's first and last names with no other identifying information... doesn't seem like much of an issue to me. After all, people use these names in their daily lives, it's not like they're private.

HIPPA protects medical patients. People can't/don't have to reveal their medical information.

Yes I know HIPPA protects medical patients. I work in the health care field. It's just my opinion and I think it's wrong that you are listing last names. I guess we can agree to disagree.
