A woman I know has had her baby today.
A girl called Aisia Willow

WDYT? I like it, but I don't think it fits in with the rest of their family names.

Mum - Carol Joanne
Dad - Clinton John
Son1 - Callum John
Son2 - Adam William

Is it pronounced like the country? I know someone who named her baby Asia but pronounces it Ahz-ee-ah (although that is the Italian way of saying the country).

Ah, I knew someone who pronounced her name that way but it was spelled Ayesha

That's how my mom pronounces my name, Aisha.
It has cused endless problems, especially since my Moroccan father, who has not lived with me since I was an infant, pronounces it correctly, "(long)I-shuh."

I don't really like the name, but if you do, it doesn't really matter how everyone else feels.

I think Aisia is ridiculous.

I like Willow a lot, but not really a fan of Asia.

Why didn't they just spell it Asia? Hrk.

I'm not sure that redeems it. Will ANYbody reading her name at first glance pronounce it other than "Asia" or "Aisha"?

I don't like it, sorry. The boys' names are nice, though.

Hmm, Aisia does sound quite made up and I'm not very keen on it. Willow is adorable, though.

Asia (like the country) has gained popularity in the last 5 years or so (at least in Italy, I have a 4-year old cousin named that), so I guess it's fine, there's always Asia Argento pulling the thread along.

But Aisia is just confusing, and if it's really read as Ay-sha, then I really don't like it.
I like the brother's names though

Um...Asia isn't a country, but a continent, just like Europe isn't a country. Sorry, just had to point that out.
I like Aisia Willow though. It sounds sweet =)

The initials do fit with the second son- they're both AWs.

As for the name itself- I think it would fit in a fantasy setting, and I certainly wouldn't pronounce it that way. Aye-sha just doesn't make sense, the way it's spelled. The poor kid's going to be correcting the pronunciation the rest of her life.

I don't really have a preference for Aisia.

But I went 'squee' at the Mum's middle name - I LOVE the name Joanne. If I ever have another daughter I'm naming her Joanne (it's the name of my best friend too, how appropriate :D).
