Well... I was thinking about some uncommon names of people I've known during my highschool time and came up with these:

Girls
Darinka
Nuri (Nurcihan, actually, but everyone calls her Nuri)
Nele
Birthe
Marita
Mireilla
Denise
Yvonne
Meike
Violetta
Fée
Lena
Angoli
Irena
Franziska
Derya

Boys

Anas
Timo
Anno (my boyfriend)
Roman
Pascal
Tim
Jochen
Amin
Mirco

What do you think of them? Some of them might be common in other countries but aren't in Germany where I live. Some are common here but not elsewhere. So... opinions?
Personally I really like Darinka and Marita, and Derya isn't bad, either :>

My mum thought about naming me Marita.

I'm familiar with the names Denise, Yvonne, Lena (common in Norway), Violetta, Pascal, and Tim.

I think of Denise, Yvonne and Tim as standard names.

that's funny, there are no names that I would categorize as typically german, in your list.
Some of them are italian, some are international, some are even oriental-sounding etc.

Angoli and Anno are funny to me, because they mean "angles" and "year" in italian, literally :)

I don't like Birthe, it reminds me of childbirth! Even though it's probably pronounced more like Berta/Bertha I'm guessing

Darinka reminds me of someone saying "drink" in a silly voice.

I like the rest of them.

How do you pronounce Derya? It makes me think of Dare ya.... like "I dare ya to jump off the bridge". Maybe I am pronouncing it way wrong?

My name is Elena, Lena for short. :] I've met several Yvonnes and Irenas as well, and Tims of course. Fee is very pretty.

I know a lot of girls with the same names as on your list ;)
I like Fée because it means faerie in Dutch, but in English...it's just...you know...a fee, or something ;)
& Lena is cute =)

Violetta- said VEE-oh-let-ah?
I think that's really pretty, an interesting take on Violet/Viola.
