I love the name, Brennan, for a girl. Everyone's brothers wife's cousin's monkey's uncle is naming their boy Brennan though.

What gender do you like it for, if you like it at all?

I think that Brennan would be lovely on a girl. Maybe it could be paired with a more obviously feminine middle name to soften it.

Brennan Rose (reminds me of Briar Rose...)
Brennan Scarlett
Brennan Mathilde
Brennan Emily

I personally don't like it, but I'd see it on a boy, definitely.
There's Brenda and Brenna for a girl, the -an sound is masculine to me.

Brennan is a cute name. I think it sounds more like a girl's name to me, as I went to school with a girl named Brennan...so hearing boys named Brennan sound a bit odd to me. lol

I don't really like it at all because it just sounds like a mix-up of brendan (even though i dont think it actually is...?) but i really don't like it for girls.

I went to college with a boy named Brennan. I hadn't actually ever thought about it on a girl. The more I think about it though, the more I do like it. :)

And side note. I looked it up on several baby name websites and most of them list it as both male or female. So, I think its really up to what you like.

I don't really like it, but it sounds more masculine to me. Brenna would be ok for a girl.

I think Brennan would be nice for a girl especially if paired with a girly middle name.

I like it. It reminds me of Temperance Brennan from Bones, although her coworkers call her Brennan or Bren. I think it's perfectly suitable for a girl's name.

I like it for a girl. It's soft yet tough. This is a badass little girl's name.

I don't particularly like the name but I expect it to be a boys' name. Now that you mention it on a girl though, it's possible.. I don't really like boys' names on girls but this is one that isn't as bad as some.

Boy, definitely. Brenna could work for a girl.

I personally have never known anyone with Brennan asa first name. However, my husband's family has a aquaintance - an older man whose last name is Brennan. So I view it as a masculine name.
I do think that Brynn and Brenna are very nice girls' name though! :D

I like it for a boy or a girl.

My daughter's name was Brenna. I have an Aunt Brenda and a male cousin Brennon. FWIW, he was named after the last name of some family friends of there's. It actually never entered our minds when we were picking the name that I had family with similar names.

Anyway, pretty name, suitable for either a boy or a girl, but I think it's more commonly used for boys. That might make it more interesting though. I don't really think it's a common enough of a name for people to be particularly weird about gender usage.

Someone else suggested a feminine sounding middle name. FWIW, my daughter's full first name was Brenna Rose. Brenna is already kinda feminine, but a feminine mn does sound good with Brennan.

To be honest, I don't like it (although it's certainly nothing startlingly bad, just not my taste). So I wouldn't name anybody that.

As far as association, I definitely only think of it as a boy's name. It's too much like Hayden or Tristan when used on a girl, I think, like "We can get away with it, so let's."

It's an Irish boys' name. I don't much care for it either way, but it's definitely male.

I know a few girls with the name and one boy.
The girls are older and the boy is young.
But, anyway.. I love it for both. I would actually name a girl Brennan, though. Not so sure if I'd name a boy that.

I knew a Brennan a couple years ago, so it's definitely a male name to me.
