I've been thinking a lot about 'Z' names lately because they are hard to find. as such, I decided to list a few I've heard of... feel free to add/comment/etc

Zachariah #
Zachary/Zachery
Zac/Zack/Zach
Zaden
Zathan
Zen #
Zoren
Zane/Zayne
Zeus
Zeb #
Zebediah
Zepher
Zylar

Zoe/Zoey #
Zena
Zari #
Zara/Zarah
Zariah
Zilli

The ones I don't mind are marked with an (#) I have no 'Z' names on my list, but my childhood bear that still sits on my bed was named Zoey =D

EDIT: I just noticed how most of these are attempts at being 'cr8tyve' way of using an original name, such as Sarah/Zarah

actually, zaharah (pronounced ZAH-rah, it's kind of a heavy h) is arabic and it does mean flower. i kind of like it. there are actually several arabic names that start with z, lots of them very common (zena, sometimes pronounced zayna, on the op's list, is one of them)

Zs look funny typed.

Anyway, one of my imaginary friend's name is Zaphaniel Orion. We call him Zo, Zaph, or Zoey for short.

also some of the Z names you consider creative spellings are actually foreign spellings of names. zara is sara in some eastern european languages and actually i think in some other language (i saw it on a site soemwhere) it has a different meaning from sara altogether. also you'll find things like zofia, which is the slavic version of sofia, and there are lots more like that.

I like Zepheniah, which someone in this community mentioned some days ago.
I'd never heard of it and I think it should get more attention :)

Zara/Zarah isn't a 'cr8tyve' way to spell Sarah. It's a name in it's own. Have you ever hear of Princess Zara from the Royals in England? I hardly think the royals would use a 'cr8tyve' spelling would you? :P

usually names like zarah or zuzanna are foreign spellings. i knew a girl in college named zuzanna and she was from romania.

and i like the name zipporah.

I knew a Zarah in high school, I also know a Zelia. They're both female, but my hubby knows a male Zara. I'm not a big fan of Z names.

zarah is a completely different name from sarah. it's not pronounced 'zay-rah', it's 'zah-rah'. anyway, different meaning and origins, and definitely not an attempt at kre8tive-ness.

a lot of Z names aren't 'kreativ':

zachary/zakariya (arabic version)
zoran (serbian)
zane
zia (arabic)
zillah (hebrew)

etc, etc...

i knew a girl called Zanthe. Pronounced 'ZAHN-ta'. She had a twin sister called Nerine (pronounced 'Ner-REEN'). We were friends from school when we were tiny, and none of the kids ever considered that they were weird names.
