Yeah, its not even in any baby name books. Its actually a character name from one of the Final Fantasy video games. So I guess its a Japanese name interpreted or something...I have no clue though.
I am four and half months pregnant and I hardly like ANY names! Ultrasound tech was pretty sure it was a boy so I've been looking for boy names and thats the only one I really like thats stuck on me. I need to have a different unique name as I am a Meaghan and I hated being one of 7 Meaghans in a class. I want my child to have the only name like his in the school ya know? If you have any weird/unique names that you hardly hear, let me know! I am desperate for some more ideas. I am getting mixed signals on Auron. But I really like the name. You're right, the more you say it, the more it seems to grow on you. I think it has a nice sound to it. So thank you for responding positively towards it!
Congrats on the pregnancy. I like SO many more girl names than boys, i'd have such a hard time choosing a name if i was ever pregnant with a boy. The name Meaghan isn't popular at all over here in the UK (Do you pronounce it like Mee-gan?) Even Megan isn't that popular i only know 2. Some 'weird' boy names i like are: Felix Finley Zane/Zain (I know the cutest little boy with this name, i think it sounds kinda cool) I also like some biblical names like Elijah, Noah and Isaiah
P.s Do you mind if i add you as a friend? Im new to LJ and need some friends to read! <3
No I dont mind at all. I love new friends. Add away! :) I will add you back. Just be prepared for a lot of pregnancy whining. LOL And my name is pronounced May-gan. Not Mee-gan. I like bibical names too! My sister is trying to get me to go with Noah. But I really like Zain. I'm gonna mention that to my man!
I hadnt thought of anything to make fun of with that name, but that makes sense. Even though the way the name would be pronounced would not be the rhyme with 'moron'
IMHO, this name isn't weird. i have two friends: twins named Cray and Nave. their names don't have any sence but the boys like them. a non-traditional name is a fisrt step to make a person unique!
IMHO? See I think that is cool. The first thing you know about anyone is their name...have a non traditional name and it really makes someone remember you.
I understand this sentiment but think it isn't necessarily true in all cases. First of all, every person is unique, even if they're named Ann or John - the name doesn't predetermine anything. Second, people belong to social groups, and at some point their unique name will serve them well, but at some point it will also cause trouble - it will require constant pronunciation and spelling corrections, or lead to teasing. Of course Ann and John might be Ann S. or tall John during elementary school, but their names will also serve them because they are easy to spell and say for everyone.
yea, i can agree with ya. my name's Anna but this doesn't prevent me from being unique :) lol
but i don't think unique names will cause many troubles. we just have to teach our children not to pay attention on them.
but in choosing the name the most important is to choose one which really suit a child. sometimes u just look on a baby and the right name come to ur mind. so i think it's wrong to choose a certain name before the kid is born
Oh my god!! That is so cool what you named your daughter!! I always thought that was the most beautiful name for a little girl, but people thought I was weird for wanting a name so popular from a videogame series. I was even considering at the beginning naming a girl Aeris or Rinoa. I think FF has the nicest names!
